I got put off when I was finally getting used to the controls and was doing camp quests but got stuck on a roof because the dude inside was trying to yell at me for letting my foot clip into the house for an instant and he couldn't reach me.
I couldn't exit and I hadn't saved since I did a few quests and I just got tired. I wanna go back but losing progress to that shit is one of the most potent ways to turn me off from a game.

It's a really fun game, but I got shitty when I was supposed to head north and start killing orcs, but a huge difficulty spike of a wolf pack was in the way which my mage wasn't prepared for. So I never finished it.

Dreugh, daedra and atronachs too. Plus in the areas just around dungeon entrances/exits they'll have creatures or NPCs based on the type, like the Orcs and Nords that like to hang out around Daedric Shrines, undead near tombs, other kwama species near egg mines.

That said, the truth is that Morrowind's content is largely contained in the cities, towns, and dungeons rather than the wilderness. There's a lot of plants and fungi to gather but beyond that the wilderness itself is fairly empty. But since Morrowind has several hundred dungeons and dozens of settlements it's definitely one of the most densely content-packed open world games out there, along with the first two Gothics. In Gothic you'll find the content in the actual world itself which I find more immersive, while in Morrowind you'll mainly be looking for a road that leads to a town or a door that leads to an interior place to explore (behind a loading screen) instead, with most commonly a Cliff Racer or two or seven harassing you on your way there.

I'm playing through it now. I'm level 5. This game gives me weird feelings of both dread and comfiness. It's one of the few rpgs where I just want to settle down and live in a comfy town or farm because the world is fucking scary.
