Is silent hill 1 the scariest? Currently playing it and the other ones dont seem to have the same atmosphere.

I think SH2 and 3 are the scariest, but SH1 was my first game in 99 and it scared me for a long time, esp the school.

It really is imo. I feel 2 is too sad at times rather than scary. Which is good though because it wanted to have a depressing atmosphere. With 3 Heather comes off as goofy sometimes. 4 has a lot of awkwardness to it. While with 1 its quirkiness is more excusable in my eyes due to the hardware limitations and being the first of its kind. Even then I still feel it did many things better. Like having fast moving enemies, creepier music, dark and rusted metal atmosphere, and it feels more like a dream world nightmare.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate.
The "sh2proxy" fix works as a no-cd crack as well, and is included in the pack.
If you use the NEW widescreen fixes mentioned in guide, the sh2proxy's EXE works as no-cd crack too.

In case you experience issues saving the game / not being able to edit the disp.ini, make sure the files aren't set to "Read Only", and run the game as Administrator.
If SH2 gets stuck in a black screen upon launch, close it and re-start it again.
You can now see fine emulator settings for SH1 in the guide. You may also try the newer PGXP emulator for wobble-free PS1 graphics.

Weird question: last time I played SH2, everything was working just fine until I got to the Pyarmid Head chase part, and then he moved at the speed of light through the "maze". Kind of reminded me of old dos games, and how you have to lower their cpu cycles or else the game moves in fast forward.

Any ideas how to fix? Btw was using all the fixes featured here.
