Grimoire is a scam. He will never fucking release it. Because he knows we're gonna see how shit it is and laugh at what came from the 20+ years of his hardwork. Because he won't be able to cash in the checks his mouth made.

I've played the first Grimoire demo in 1997 and I was underwhelmed cause it felt so damn shallow overall. I just don't think that it's a good game. Or at least it's a good scaffold of a game, but the entire brickwork is missing.

I'm close friend of Cleve. I came here to say that do not mock him or discredit him... He works as hard and fast as he can right now... He has been locked up in his bunker for two weeks now. >>383316075
Both W8 and AF are different from LoG. AF is a first-person dungeon-crawler more in the vein of ultima underworld or an earlier elder scrolls without the overworld. W8 is a part-based with turns blobber and the game is very intuitive and is really hard to mess up if you read what each thing does.
LoG is a real-time blobber and way simpler than these others, in part because it's subgenre is inherently simpler and DM/LoL/EotB are pretty much the genre and nearest thing to LoG.
All these games have puzzles/combat/exploration in their own way so maybe you should describe what you are looking for better.

Not really. Might and Magic 3 to 5 feel like modern games in terms of the interface. Everything has hotkeys, the game remembers your last actions and the inventory system is perfect. I can't think of a modern RPG with a better system. The only thing it is really missing is being able to change keybinds.

His biggest victory has been with jobs and trade. Because that is what he ran on. Maybe what you listed is what the news repeatedly played in highlight reels, but his campaign, and what won him the election, is jobs and trade. Neither of them are very good. 6 and 7 are clunky messes with the most bizarre progression system in a video game. The only Wizardry game worth playing is 8.
>>
>>383318310
If you really want to have the whole story start with 6, if you don't care about that there's literally nothing wrong with starting at 7 or 8.

Wizardry 8 is the pinnacle of the genre as far as my opinion goes. There are other games that do certain aspects of the genre better in my view (I'm a fan or Etrian Odyssey for example which tends to be controversial in CRPG circles), but when it comes to the overall experience it's hard to beat Wiz8 especially with a few minor mods, and I personally wouldn't fault anyone for starting at 8 since it's pretty user-friendly.

M&M7 was my personal introduction to the genre so I have a massive soft spot for it. Which I guess makes me a relative newcomer, but I don't believe there are many people on /v/ who can honestly claim they got their feet wet with the really old-school stuff. That aside, I still prefer Wiz8 though.

But yeah M&M9 was a fucking disgrace even if you're a big M&M fan. I've heard 10 was a pretty decent throwback, but I haven't given it a fair chance yet so I can't comment on that.

>Just woke up. May have to get 4 hours of sleep a night for a few days until it is up.

The publicity is colossal. Hundreds of millions of people have now had sufficient time to inhale the coming greatness of the most amazing fantasy roleplaying game ever written for themselves while learning the virtues of patience. What was formerly just a local mental illness has gone global. The great thing about the internet is that now people can hate on Neanderthals on the other side of the world they've never even met.

Their tears of despair will very shortly turn to tears of joy. Or tears of madness. What have you and whatnot.

Gotta get to work. Sunday, an ordinary man would need to rest. An ordinary man. God made it the sabbath because he knew Sapiens had very weak endurance. The Neanderthal is still required to pull oxen out of ditches on this day and if ever there was an oxe stuck in a ditch, it's Grimoire.

>>
>>383320790

Yeah, coal being bad or good is beside the point here. The coal industry dying in the face of cheaper, more efficient competition is what matters.

Capitalists need to make up their minds: Either it's right to prop up dying industries because people need jobs, or it's wrong to interfere with the free market.
>>
>>383321006
he thinks its special. like he's legit proud of that he has thal dna. He says homo sapiens created autism to hurt neanderthals or some shit. he's nuts.
>>
>>383321080

>Capitalists need to make up their minds: Either it's right to prop up dying industries because people need jobs, or it's wrong to interfere with the free market.

Coal is going to die no matter what, it's merely a case of prolonging the inevitable to satisfy the retards who honestly think it will recover. As for propping up other dying industries, we all know it's a case of who's running them, since the government was all too willing to bail out the failing banks and financial groups despite the fact that they should have all crashed and burned.

>>
>>383321006
You should check his blog, he goes on about how Neanderthals are God's chosen people that could defeat 300 Sapiens at once with their bare hand and had a culture that was far more advanced than the lies that Sapiens science tells about them, and that the only reason they lost the evolutionary race was because inferior Sapiens niggers outbred them and gangraped their women.

Also Aspergers Syndrome is just what the lying Sapiens scientists call the superior Neanderthal brain, because they're afraid of his incredibly high IQ, which allowed him to understand every topic of culture, politics, philosophy and programming by the time he was 12 years old. And autism is definitely not related to Aspergers, it's a poison created by Sapiens scientists and delivered through vaccins to destroy your brains.

It goes back to original Wizardry pretty much. Greenberg and Woodhead had a falling out with Siroteks, that's why they brought in Bradley to do 5, 6 & 7. When 6&7 were big hits, Greenberg and Woodhead sued Sir-Tech AND Bradley since the Siroteks didn't offer him ANY legal protection. So Bradley retreated from Sir-Tech and started his own company that made Wizards and Warriors. After Bradley left, Siroteks though that it would be great to outsource Wiz 8 somehwhere - that's where Cleve was brought in and whole project ended in a disaster. Then there was Wizardry Nemesis which was meant to be 8 but turned out to be a clusterfuck. The reason why 8 was made was that Sir-Tech was in bad financial situation and WANTED to make money somehow to get out of the hole. Fun fact: Sir-Tech folded and Sir-Tech Canada was who completed the game by getting funding from in-game ads.

And Sir-Tech Canada folded not long after.

I can picture this 50+ yo autistic dude looking at the countdown on steam while panicking, walking in circles while slapping his own face, muttering nononono they will hate it itit it bugs bugs no can't release what if what if BUGGSSS, then finally screaming I GET IT, I CAN FIX THE SAVES THAT'S A PRETTY SERIOUS BUG!!! and then feeling relieved he won't have to release it now.

He did exactly the same trick years ago on his indiegogo campaign. Do the math.

At this point, so close to release,he could have released the game in a buggy state and be done with. Yet he still chose to stuck with it to the end and complete his vision. That guy is insane, but the effort is certainly commendable. Really wishing him all the best.

Also, given that the game is following the footsteps of Wizardry and EoB, expect the playthrough to be over 100 hours. And I mean 100 hours of actual content and little filler. So $40, even though a little expensive, is right for it.

>>383341441
Why not? If they just make the game better without changing the core mechanics, why not use them?

He isn't even elaborate, it is just that his method of speaking is hilarious. If you ever thought he was serious, consider that his company mascot is a play on "when pigs fly". This is all just a very long-winded joke that is only possible due to his fantastic sense of humor.

His entire post history is just him upselling himself and his shitty DOA game that took DNF top place of never to be released more than some minimum wage mcdonalds employee trying to get you buy upgrade to a large meal. This fucker lives in lah lah land aka the underground bunker. He can't even cope with the idea that this world is dominated by sapes, his faux primitive brain can't even come to grip that he has to interact with sapes to get anything done in this sape planet. He most probably washes his hands and showers every second just coming into contact with sapes because they make his skin crawl to the point he hallucinates tiny sapes crawling on his skin.
>>
>>383341441
Why shouldn't I? I thought the main issue with Wizardry 8 was that the combat dragged for a very long time, and that a mod to speed this up was really helpful so to not drop the game after 50 hours.

A few of the sprites have a little blur, but I find it hardly noticeable. No need to get this angry.
>>
>>383325298
I wasn't trying to imply they all were, just that there's a lot of trash. Specifically mentioned Japanese since it seems they are the only ones making these types of games anymore, and unfortunately plenty are uninspired.

Completely forgot about Class of Heroes. Remembered it looked interesting way back, but I wasn't really into the genre at that point. Might have to check out one of them.

The funniest thing is, this cunt lives in the Gold Coast which is where all the most superficial chads and roasties live. If he is disgusted by sapes so much why did he choose that place, its like jersey shores in Australia. How the actual fuck has he not broken down mentally and gone on a rampage trying to deal with tanned tribal-tattooed, roided up zyzz cunt and big plastic tit/ass, botox lip bimbo roasties on daily basis.

I think this really sums up the whole thing. The struggle to create Grimoire is enough to fill Cleve's heart: when he releases the game and the boulder rolls down the mountain as people point out how shit it is, he will realise he was happier never having made it to the goal.

It does.
Just because X is Y does not mean that Y is X.
Here is a simple graph for you to understand.

All Tigers are Cats, not all Cats are Tigers
All Berries are Fruits, not all Fruits are Berries.
All Even numbers are Numbers, not all Numbers are Even.

Simple subcategories statements.
>>

>>383345956
rogue likes are a genre defined by mechanics, as are dungeon crawlers. however, roguelikes almost universally involve dungeon crawling due to the defining games of the genre (Rogue, Nethack, Crawl) revolving around that
>>
>>383347347
Roguelikes are Dungeon Crawlers with really specific rules.

As such, Roguelikes are Dungeon Crawlers, but Dungeon Crawlers are not Roguelikes.

Might and Magic is a Dungeon Crawler and not a Roguelike.
>>
>>383344448
>which is where all the most superficial chads and roasties live
you mean maori scaffolders

Melbourne is the chad zone
>>
>>383347306
Mh, I get it now.

Still sounds strange though.
>>
>>383347582
nah. rogue likes are specifically emulating the mechanics and rules of Rogue, which happened to be a dungeon crawler. There are plenty of roguelikes that don't take place in dungeons or even places analogous to dungeons (FTL for example)
>>
>>383347347
ok but how does that prevent this game from being shit?
>>
>>383348135
FTL isn't a roguelike, it's a rogue-lite.
You also don't have to be exploring a literal dungeon to be a dungeon crawler.
>>
>>383348135
Roguelikes that dont follow the rules of Rogue are not Roguelikes, they are called Roguelites.

Same basic idea as Roguelikes but with exceptions. Stuff like The Binding of Isaac is not roguelike. It's roguelite.

Also, Dungeon Crawlers dont have to be in dungeons.
>>
>>383348135
FTL isn't a roguelike. It's a rougelike-like. Roguelikes are a well defined genre with close to a 100 well developed games. No need to bring unrelated games into the mix.
