Anything that I feel is actively trying to work its way into my head is a turn-off. I couldn't stand Gone Home. I couldn't stand Indigo Prophecy. I couldn't stand any Phil Fish game.

MMOs used to be about finding new people and enjoying their company. It was like a big bar that you met people at. The quests and slaying virtual monsters was the fluff that held the experience together.
You can't really play a modern MMO anymore and say that you "get it". Modern MMORPGs are just themeparks where all the rides are the same.

I have to resub my FFXIV account to play with friends, and I don't want to. I've been putting it off.

My friend invited me to play FFXIV and it honestly felt like every other MMO out there. Yeah I guess the graphics are a lot nicer and the dialogue is alright but I got up to the first group raid boss (the "tutorial" one) and it was kinda fun but I really cant see myself getting into it.

That's just my opinion though, not gonna pretend like I'm some expert on MMO's

Survival games with crafting and basebuilding. Especially ones that you play with your friends like Rust or Ark. It's no fun when one friend rushes ahead and learns everything and has tons of resources.

i used to love side scrollers as a child like super mario land since thats the only genre on the og gameboy, but now every time i look at side scrollers im just completely uninterested in any of them. the last one i ever played extensively was like terraria and ironically maple story

and i guess i hate mobas now after being stuck playing league for so long because my friends played them
