you know the problem with this design is that its pointing out how stupidly small his head is.

like its designed to pull all attention to his tiny head. like reinhardt has a tiny head but it eases into it with smaller and smaller stuff around his head to make the transition easy. Not only that it doesn't even focus on his head. its more towards the chest piece which kind of creates a secondary head to his design which again eases you into it.

I get you could say "oh that was the point of the design, to make his head look tiny" but thats a really bad idea.

Doom fist looks pretty fun to play.

To be honest I kinda like that about Overwatch, you can see different kinds of tech depending from where the character is. You can have top notch tech like Symmetra's hard light but if you're an australian your stuff's gonna be made of literal scraps, or if you were in Overwatch depending on when in the timeline you were your stuff's gonna look one way or the other, things like Winston's or Reinhardt's suit and Tracer's bullshit time thingy looking kinda old and degrade due to years of use.
This applies not only to heros but also to skins that have been confirmed canon like for example the snow ones for Zarya with it's green and bulky plastic or Sombra's Los Muertos where her gun has a literal wifi anthena strapped onto it. It gives you the feel that tech hasn't evolve the same everywhere and I really like that.

I like to think that the Doomfist's guantlet is just a part of an superpowerful old suit that got utterly destroyed after unknown events. Personally I like shit like the guantlet was the latest addition to the suit and when it was actually used the punch was so poweful it destroyed everything except itself, including it's original owner.
