I replayed Super Castlevania 4 last night on hard mode and I am ashamed at my performance. Despite being the easiest classic style Castlevania, I still died a few times on torture chamber, once in the treasury, and like 25 times on the very last stage (the final part with the death gear chasing you). This is the best Castlevania, and the only classic Castlevania I like replaying a lot.

Bloodlines is easily my favorite one. Sega sound chipset really helps set the mood for the phenomenal soundtrack. It refines the classic gameplay but doesn't stray too far to trivialize it like C4 did. Level design is great, both characters are fun to play and the boss battles don't feel trivial like they do in all the other older games. A true master piece. Rondo and Adventure ReBirth come after Bloodlines.

What the fuck? Seriously, four episodes? Apparently the second will at least have eight but Jesus Christ. I figured they would get through the whole Trevor arc in one season and just do different Belmonts for other seasons. Barely anything even happened in the first episode, it was all backstory and setup.

That said, it is decidedly decent. There are certain scenes that scream of QUALITY and the plot is pretty trite but the fighting scenes are very entertaining. I can appreciate the gore and violence but sometimes it seems to be over the top just for the sake of it like with the finger and eyeball coming off two guys in just a streetfight. All this is are the constant cursing is pretty par for the course considering it's executive produced or whatever by Adi Shankar.

Classicvania games all play the same with the exception of 4 which feels like a more standard action platformer. Both it and The Adventure Rebirth let you control your jump midair but it makes no difference whatsoever. 3 has a character that can control his jump, jump high in general and climb walls. Bloodlines has limited diagonal whipping and whip swinging mechanics. Rondo has an OP backflip and a little girl mode which is what you might want to go for.

Why live.

Id love to see the follow up to Trevor being Richter using his game that happens 5 years prior to SoTN. Having Alucard as the protagonist would also make sense for viewers as hes a big part of Trevors story.

The Belmonts then vanish after hearing aboit the prophecy from Nostradamus where Dracula would reincarnate in 1999. This could be followed up by a season around Ecclesia and the Morris family.

And finally we get Julius belmont taking back the vampire killer and sealing the castle in the eclipse in 1999 followed by Soma cruz entering said eclipse in 2035.
