I watched a friend playing it and the only thing I could grasp being different than H1Z1 was some instances of the player using first person view (not even sure if it weren't possible in H1) and using different vehicles other than that jeep, atv or police car. Why is it so popular now? Legit question

I really dislike the way rounds go about like in H1Z1 where the map gradually reduces in size in a circular fashion and the fact that there are guns everywhere. Seems so contrived and I think a Battle Royale style of zoning where for example "Grid E4 and Grid G6" are temporarily off limits.

I play alone and for the most part it isn't that bad.
I've won multiple squad games and worked together with others. You do get the one or two shitty teams of 3 which will either kill you or abandon you the first chance they get but it isn't the norm.
If you play in couples that fixes it though but you sacrifice the bigger battles.

Solo can be fun but after the first 10 hours I was bored of it.
It's the slowest mode and the best strategy is to do as little as possible and hope to get a good spot in the circle.
Equipment is a lot more useful in squad/couple matches.

Game is absolute wank, it's more shallow then no man's sky, and that's saying something.
