This thread is bait but due to quality posts I will try.

Nothing is going to kill Monster Hunter.
Monster Hunter is to Japan what Call of Duty and Battlefield is the most others.
The absolute best part of this is all the games that has come out as knock offs of Monster Hunter have finally gotten the series enough press that posts like yours is made.
I am however sad that the games have gotten much easier and the Elitism of it's players is still so intense.
Then again it does seem that Elitism for the sake of it is quite popular and that is quite sad.
Also if you look at some dates and just who all actually copied Capcoms game style and formula you'll find alotta cool stuff. I'll not spoil it for you but you probably have played spoofs of it already. You might have played spoofs of it's spoofs.

I got access to the tech alpha right now.

The game is pretty bare bones and not even close to monster hunter. It makes for pretty mediocre experience which still better than trash like godeater or toukiden, though.

Will play some coop when it's f2p to waste some time till MHW.

I just want another good franchise that inhabits Monster Hunter's genre. I don't even necessarily want to play it; I just want Capcom to be forced to compete with it. It's the only good game of its type and people eat that shit up, so Capcom isn't forced to dramatically improve or overhaul anything. Stagnant is one of the worst things a video game genre can be, and that one word describes the 'hunting' genre to a T.

Played alpha. Game needs a LOT of work before beta.

Some of the monster AI is really wonky, but the weapons are ok. Hammer can shoot itself around the map and into the air for slam attacks, chain blades can grab and drag themselves to a monster or jump off of them depending on how close you are.

I don't understand how this game will supposedly release with 3x the monsters they have now and even more weapons. I'm not too optimistic.
