Each culture influence their own animated works in one way or another but they all remain cartoons and japanese productions arent really THAT much different when you take a closer look.

While you can easily spot difference between manga and manhwa, in case of animated works, I guess they might look very similar. But who really cares, look above point. At the same time Oban: Star Racer is good show not because it was made in one country or another but because of overall quality.
