N64 was sometimes awkward, and I can't help but agree simply for all the handlets out there.
Wiimote+Nunchuk was fine and worked great.
Genesis 3 buttons were pretty normal controllers, and mostly were fine since not many games used the 6 button one as a necessity.
Joycons are good for the Switch's purpose (mobile mulitplayer with friends), but are too small (although chunkiness would be bad considering the Switch purpose).
Duke was usable, it's just that they came out with a better one after it that made more sense to use.
Never used a circle pad pro, I thought that was just for MonHun players.
Steel Battalion thing is too pricey but it worked great from what I remember of my friend's one.

Switch is actually fine. It feels comfortable, it just looks weird. It's nice that you can play (albeit limited) 2 players with what is essentially one controller too.

The bottom right looks perfectly fine. You obvsiouyl aren't supposed to use it for Call of Duty.

I always hated the Wii controller, I suppose it wasn't so bad when the 1:1 motion one came out, but since they're all 480p games and I'm guessing only a few actually use 1:1 motion I never had one.

dualshock 1 and 2 controllers are alright, original playstation controller is poor and the sixaxis and dualshock 3 are utter garbage. Dualshock 4 is overall an improvement, but is let down by the annoying light and awful battery life sadly. It's a shame the xbone has such a poor lineup of games and that controller is god-tier.

it's definitely got better ergonomics than a wiimote, but in my experience it was too picky over lighting to the point where I sometimes couldn't get it to work. It also lacked in games that used it well, I think time crisis and heavy rain were about all I played with it. Also, maybe it's just me, but I found the glowing ball kind of a distraction and eyesore to look at.

It was used in quite many games by people who preferred using the analog stick with the right hand.

Not saying it was particularly hard, as you'd mostly have to take the right thumb off the stick to push A or B.

To this extent, the symmetrical layout of the Dual Shock was probably to be preferred.
