What weapon are you looking forward to maining this time around?
On one hand I've never really used any of the ranged weapons very much so that might be interesting to start with.
On the other hand I fell in love with the Charge Blade and I'm likely to give it another shake once I get my hands on the game.
All of them.
>>383229769
great sword, charge blade, hammer in that order
>>383229769
long sword and hammer
>>383229769
>Charge into Super Charge into "True Charge"
>Slap replaced with a tackle with super armor
I FUCKING LOVE GREAT SWORD AAAAHHHHH
>>383230169
This, but I'm hyped as fuck to get into the gl and see how I can dance with it in world.
>>383230684
>On one hand I've never really used any of the ranged weapons very much so that might be interesting to start with.
They are merging blademaster and gunner armour together this time around with different defenses based on melee/ranged weapons so the barrier to play ranged is gone now.
I've mained the GS since FU but I've really wanted to use the HBG but it's so annoying on a controller. Can't wait to try it out on PC.
>>383230981
I love that they did that but it's a real shame there's no visual difference anymore.
>>383229769
Dual blades or charge blades first, probably followed by bow. I've never used a bow in MH before, but I feel it's going to be tons of fun on a console. I might even try out longsword. So many options, I'm extremely hyped
>>383230994
my dad works at capcom and he said there wont be mouse support`
>>383230981
That's an interesting choice- less worrying about material gathering, though you don't get the different armor set skins
I always found the issue with ranged weaponry was the costs of ammunition, at least when starting out
>>383230924
The slap is still there. You just have more options.
Two notable ones:
- You can choose to tackle or slap after an X overhead swing
-You can do a strong charge into the follow up wide slash OR a new somersault overhead hit which is narrower but probably hits harder
>>383229769
I was thinking either lance or hunting horn.
>>383230169
>those textures
vomits
>>383229769
BAD ASS
>>383231136
>Expecting more with highly intricate designs on a handheld
>>383231090
>a new somersault overhead hit which is narrower but probably hits harder
That's what I said. It might not have been "true charge" but I remember it said True [something].
>>383229769
Definitely GS
Who /chargeblade/ here?
In every bit of demo footage we never seen if the impact of a level 3 charge is still there. For Christ's sake, put someone who knows what the fuck they are doing on stage next time. I hate having to wait for Gamescon where competent people will finally touch the demo
>>383229769
>maining a weapon when you can switch weapons and gear mid hunt
Why?
>>383231501
And with damage numbers, we can finally end this gs combo not doing damage meme.
>>383231637
You are naturally going to be using some weapons more than others. That's just the nature of things.
wait why are people hyped for this one? XX looked stellar but isnt leaving japan so all we get is a watered-down spinoff? fuck off capcom
every time my answer with be hunting horn + anything else to occasionally take a break from hunting horn
>>383231418
No switch axe, not my nigga
>>383231315
>Just jams it into the cut he just made and rips through the fucking spine
RIP
AND
TEAR
>>383229769
Hunting horn, obviously.
>1 armor set
>its a quality of life improvement!!!!!!!!!!!
>>383231656
I thank the lord every day that they're finally making charge adjustment easier. No visual cue in earlier games whatsoever and sometimes it would just randomly not work depending on how your camera was positioned.
>>383231656
>choosing to do non-charged comboes with GS
>when charging your hits does triple the damage and takes less time to do the same amount or more
>>383231990
Woah hey this is a WDF protected thread, I'm going to have to ask you to leave.
Did Airous have ballistae in 3U onwards? I only played the PSP ones.
Side view.
>>383232115
>Airou
shut the fuck up
>>383232115
kitty tank was introduced in 4U
>>383229769
will tompa make a come back?
>>383232190
cant see it very well, it looks like a sad duck.
>>383229769
Is there one that makes MHW a non-cinematic challenging game?
If so, that one.
>>383232000
>and missing 99% of the time, killing your DPS
>>383232406
yes, evil pigs come back in every game
>>383232532
kewl what a bow batons.
>>383230981
This is still unconfirmed man.
People need to stop spouting shit as if it's fact before it gets confirmed.
>>383232504
xd gottem again
>>383232202
Get the fuck out Shakalaka.
>>383232517
>and missing 99% of the time, killing your DPS
how fucking bad are you
People that play GS,Lance or Gunlance are damn aliens
Going to check for the Xth time in a row if Gunlance will be unfucked for once.
Protip:It won't.
>>383231315
this gives me some Dragon's Dogma vibes
>>383232504
Unironically this
>>383233176
what did he mean by this
>>383233185
>mfw HBG has wyvernfire now
>>383233492
It uses the same engine basically. I've played DDON and DDDA so the somewhat downplayed effects aren't surprising.
>>383234341
how is DDON? Dark Arisen is one of my favorite games but the lack of a localization is a bit offputting
>>383234150
HBG has had wyvernfire since Tri
>>383234341
Just got into dragon's dogma, it took a while to get the "touch" of it though. Shit's cash. Can't wait for monhun world to hunt beasts with bros
>>383234614
Didn't know cuz I haven't ever bothered with the clunky fucking thing.
>>383231315
Finally some good gameplay footage, maybe if they hadn't kept showing us shit and gimmicks the reception might have been better.
>>383234704
>>383234587
The original is quite different from the online game. DDON is pretty fucking grindy but can also be challenging. I already quit but I played it quite a bit. There was an English patch when I last played.
>>383235041
That particular webm is from the reveal trailer IIRC.

It's always been like that for reveal trailers dummy.
>>383229769
>capcom not releasing xx in the west while i wait for world
It's like those faggots don't want my money.
>>383232439
Bow looked pretty great in that multiplayer footage.
Probably gonna focus on Bow while playing Beyblades, Funlance, and Incest Glaive on the side.
>>383229769
HUNTING HORN - Let me play you the song of my people!
>>383229769
>super simple mmo raid boss tier mechanics
>Incredibly simple combat system
monster hunter is saved only by being played with others.
>>383235703
>Let me play you the song of my people!
No thanks faggot, just focus on bashing the monster head.
>>383229769
Swaxe and longsword are definitely still my primary two mains so I'm going to continue to stick with them. After that I also use dual blades and gunlance sometimes. For gunning I like bow and lbg. I really do hope armor is unified. The majority of weapons are blademaster and it sucks having to make a set just for gunning.
>>383231315
Imagine if you could Gouge that monster with your Longsword
>>383231797
Post weapon usages, and say what game.
MH4U
How do people even use lances. I cant for the life of me figure out how to use them with any degree of competency. Every time I take one on a hunt I feel as if I've just started the game again. everything moves out of the way as soon as I'm ready to hit it. Plus I can't dodge anything since all it gives me is a shitty backstep.
>>383239227
redpill me on HBG
how do Ihave fun with it
>>383239791
acquire evasion skills and backstep fucking everywhere
Learn where monsters will place their parts during and after attacks and position yourself to hit those spots
give me a gun
>>383229769
Dual blades and charge blade. Probably SnS too.
>>383239884
thanks.
Also when, if ever, should use the forward charge.
Is it a meme move or is it actually useful?
>>383240030
Use it to get a bunch of hits in on a downed monster
>>383239791
Movement with the weapon out takes time to learn, and unlike a lot of other weapons like GS and Hammer, you really can't use this until you learn how to move with it out. Just takes practice, pick a big, slow, and predictable monster to learn it with, not one of those annoyingly fast bird wyverns. Kut-Ku is probably best mon to practice on. Guard style is probably the best way to learn it, since you can't get Evade 3 right away for evasion lancing.
>>383240164
>needing evade 3
1 max.
>>383229769
>"maining" weapons in a game without dedicated character classes
I never understood why people do this
>>383229769
Greatsword. Always greatsword.I'd love to branch out and play more longsword/switchaxe, but I just love those low hunt times with GS
>>383239831
It's like the Great Sword of gunning, all about running around sheithed, finding a good opening and then dropping into siege mode and unloading on the monster. With Pierce shot, i've gone into siege mode in the right spot at the right moment several times, and just broken every goddamn part on the monster from ass to nose, caused it to flinch so it stayed in place longer, and continued to eat more pierce shots. From that single good position and timing, I was able to fire 20+ Pierce S. Lv2's into this monster each got their 4-5 hits off.

Usually when you fight harder G Rank monsters there's more moving around so they're not really soloable this way without lots of sheathing and unsheathing, traps, and sleepbombing. In a normal hunt though with 3 other hunters, your experience will look a lot like this guy's, but with more packing up and running away when the monster gets mad at you (which it will with the damage you can do as HBG.)
In FU, I mained the hammer. But I wouldn't know where to start when choosing a new weapon.
