Is 400 dpi a meme? I can barely turn 45 degrees at this sensitivity

High dpi is the real meme and a scam used by gaming mouse making companies to make kids think bigger numbers = better. "Check out the new LogiRazerSeries S7580GXS with the highest dpi on the market of 8000 dpi!" etc. All much higher dpi really does is it means that any dust, dirt or imperfections on your mousemat has a much higher chance of interfering with your mouse input or gimbal locking you.

All that really matters is the quality of the sensor and even that doesn't matter too much between the higher end models.

Also dpi has nothing to do with your mouse sensitivity in games without knowing what in-game sens you use. You could have 400 dpi with 30 Unreal Engine 3 sensitivity which is quite high and that's the same as having 800 dpi with 15 Unreal Engine 3 sens.

The real measurements you should be using is how long/far do you need to swipe to perform a full 360 degree turn in an FPS game. I play at 30 inches (76.2cm) per 360 degree turn in competitive fps games (which is considered very low).

You can test it now. Open task manager, put it on CPU, move your mouse and watch your CPU usage spike.

400 dpi is fucking retarded if you got a modern monitor with a normal resolution. 400 dpi is fine if you're stuck on a 1024x768 monitor. I use 1800 DPI personally because it's fast enough for higher resolutions and most modern titles let me set my sensitivity low enough to make it work. I play with around 21-28cm/360 depending on the game.
