I was genuinely thinking about picking one up for Splatoon 2 but switch games are £50+ here regardless if you buy digital or physical. Meanwhile on PC I can pick up new games for £20-40.

I bought a wiiu for splatoon then picked up sm4sh and still have buyers remorse despite them being fun

Keep in mind that voice chat is a stupid fucking hassle and online play is no longer free. If you're cool with those hurdles then yeah, go for it. Splatoon was easily one of my favorite shooters of all time, right behind Titanfall 2 and TimeSplitters 2 Future Perfect is worse than the first TimeSplitters. If you have a Wii U then you can probably get Splatoon for cheap so you can treat that as a demo of sorts. If you like it and you want more than you should get Splatoon 2.

Now, all that being said, is Splatoon 2 a system seller? I wouldn't say so. Very few Switch exclusives interest me and I don't like how Nintendo is handling their online network. I'll probably get it next year if it's on sale or when the inevitable revision comes out. If you already have a Switch and you want another game, then Splatoon 2 is a solid choice.

They'll probably try to market the NES and SNES Netflix shit as the kicker for paid online. Hoping it bombs, I'd rather have their regular shit servers that have always worked flawlessly for me than paying for their rat's nest of a service. I never played 1 and i almost exclusively play online fps on PC. I think its not worth it because its a very different game (control scheme).

I will buy it for my switch but if you have a gaming background like me i would say its not worth it only for this game.

They're expensive but not that expensive. Your typical console game (and the rare PC game these days) is £42-£45. Your typical Switch game is £44-£47. Realistically how many will you buy? Dollar/hour ratio is very good for Switch. I've spent 170 hours on BotW. 30-40 hours on Mario Kart, and I'll spend hundreds of hours on Splatoon 2. A few games alone would make a system worth buying for me but it'll get all Ninty games plus + Japanese games makes it a must buy for me.
