A very slow start that is either enjoyable or boring. The part before unlocking jobs is probably the most difficult an rpg has been for me in a very long time. I dont know if it was just from it being out of left field or it just being genuinely difficult but as soon as I got past this part i lvld jobs until i got the 2nd tier of classes.

I think the best part is that the game gets really dark, and is honestly unexpected.

the game itself is a streamlined dq7 ps1 with completely new graphics. they means they cut some content though. some dungeons got gutted and battle chat is gone. still a very long game

Remember to press the party chat button after almost every npc text, trust me, the game gets a lot better and you learn a lot about the party.

Look up jobs and maybe try to plan out how you want to progress your characters. For the first set of jobs it doesn't matter much really but try to have a plan for your intermediate and advance classes.

Genuinely my favorite DQ game, I absolutely love the game. Just a fun adventure with a nice episodic plot. If it's your first DQ it might be rough though.

It legitimately takes forever for the "real" game to start and even longer before the plot ramps up but at some point toward the end of the game it finally clicks and becomes worth
