I tried it a year or so ago on 3DS. The controls were great, animation was fluid and responsive. The UI, text, and artstyle are downright hideous though. Music was pretty unmemorable. Couldn't play past the village, it was nauseating.

In my first 2 hours of Hollow Knight, and despite keyboard controls being a bitch to configure, I am enjoying the shit out of it. Much better game than Shovel Knight
