Bayo 2 did so little different from Bayo 1 it barely warranted a sequel. 3 will play exactly like 2 and 1, so why bother?

DMC2 is also an atrocity to mankind, not even gonna count the reboot. Plus DMC4 got really lazy by making you redo the whole game again.

I'd argue Bayo 2's combat was actually worse than 1's. 1 focused primarily on getting your wicked weaves out which meant you had to finish your strings consistently and always be abusing dodge offset. You still have to do that in Bayo 2 but they significantly nerfed wicked weaves in favour of umbran climax, which is just a shitty god of war "press X for super powers temporarily after gaining enough meter". Finishing strings is less important because wicked weaves are less important, just wail on enemies until you have full umbran climax.

I also hate how much emphasis is put on witch time. The game's defensive options boiling down to an all purpose dodge roll with a dedicated button and hard I-frames cheapens the combat down to rhythm game levels of hitting ZR in response to 99% of attacks, and wailing on enemies during witch time. W101 has the same problem, but at least it also has guts and reflecting lasers, and its parry doesn't automatically trigger hero time the same way Moon of mahaah kahlah triggers witch time in Bayo. Kamiya's games desperately need more varied defensive options and to shift away from having a universal dodge.

God bless Nintendo, instead of having backwards compatibility they have given me the opportunity the buy the same game all over again
