How important is it to start the game with mods? ZRP? Complete

Use graphic mods according to your liking.
ZRP is almost mandatory, it ensures you will have a smooth experience and less chances of running into a gamebreaking bug.

Dumbs down the AI to retard difficulty. Only good for the textures/graphics, which you can get on their own like AMK Complete did, which is better as a second playthrough.

Don't use mods at all. Barring that, play with ZRP for SoC and CRP for CS. CoP is perfectly fine vanilla.

There's no point playing modded because then you can't appreciate just how much better they make STALKER.
