Problem is, when i think of Belmonts i don't think anything. Untill the revised Richter of SotN they are blank slates defined by what's popular when the games where released. Simon is Conan the Barbarian with Indiana Jones whip, Trevos is the same and the original depiction of Richter is literally Ryu from Street Fighter. Generally speaking Trevor in the mini series is the scoundrel type glanced during Curse of Darkness and it's quite okay. Also, let's face it: for an adaptation of a decayed franchise they have place a lot of dialogues and exposition to delay the action because they don't have much budget to work with.

I think people forgot, if this follows the Castlevania canon, Dracula's held resentment against humanity for at least 400 years. The church condemned the Belmonts so any knowledge from Simon and Julius's time is kind of lost. It's been almost 100+ years since that.

As someone whose introduction to the series at a young age was when I found SotN at a random garage sale someone was having I loved the game, but didn't have anyway to find the older games of the series, and so only having the one game kind of dettered me from getting into the rest.

I know I could probably just emulate most if not all of them, but if I could just pay and get them all in one massive collection I would.
