Wrap assassin was never good, but I feel like most weapons have just gotten worse and less fun than they were right when they came out.

well most weapons when they came out were hilariously broken. Shit like overloading with the beggars didn't take a rocket, sandman went through ubers, the tomislav being able to almost instantly deploy, sandvitch being able to insta heal 150 health the the heavy that dropped it and other shit like that.
And before you say bring everything up to their level, you would have to buff almost every weapon in the fucking game to be able to do that, which would have ended in a disaster.

yeah but look at the liberty launcher, it's a prime example of what weapon balance looks like these days: an absolute clusterfuck of ups and downs, meanwhile it's still shit because -25% damage is just too annoying to deal with

Granted I'm shit at this game anyway, but look at what they're preparing to do to the GRU. It's KINDA like the original but it just has a bunch of unnecessary shit tacked on, all because a Heavy getting to mid in 6s (which scarcely anyone plays) too quickly was a problem. Meanwhile eviction notice is still a GRU lite instead of it's own thing.

It was my go to choice to take out pub stomping heavy pairs. Bonk em, cleaver, then shortstop would always let me beat the overheal and kill that annoying cunt without his buttplug to save him fast enough
