Even though they are both Grindfests.

Warframe somehow has even worse story and characters along with the gameplay needs to be constantly reevaluated because they keep on adding new classes and weapons. Which has lead to some classes being useless and weapon power creep.

And yes, both of those factors apply to Destiny as well but Warframe magnifies it and puts it right in your face every time you log on for an update.

Destiny 2 will probably be talked about here regularly because most of you guys play PC only.

It also isn't free so I won't hold my breath.

Sure you are considerably faster with a mouse and keyboard. But a controller has literal triggers that are intuitive in an FPS game, it is much more satisfying playing an FPS with a controllers despite it's drawbacks.

There is, in fact, a lot of awesome world-building fluff in the grimoires.

And they're going to come up with something for the Darkness, just not 'till Destiny 3. It's incredibly disappointing that they dropped the ball that hard, and it's unlikely what they come up with will live up to the hype they've built with the rest of the lore, but they will get around to it.

The "Darkness" must still be in Destiny given the vanilla story of Destiny 2 is the villain coveting the Traveler's Light. The difference is Bungie won't use "the darkness" to refer to every thing you face in the game. It never made sense that the Fallen or Cabal were considered "forces of the Darkness" if you read the grimoire.

A friend who had be grilling the game ever since the first poor reviews came out from the launch finally picked up the Collection for £28 and hasn't been able to put it down.

It's been funny seeing him go from one of the avid anti-destiny meme spouters you see on here to one of the most invested players I've seen.

It's difficult to convey what makes the game compelling. Something about how you feel when you play it. It feels like a journey.

I think that's what a lot of people miss when they dropped it originally. It's not a linear game of missions and hey you're done. It's about growth and discovery.

Warframe would be a lot better if it wasn't so fucking grindy.

They more or less encourage you to buy the currency because if you play for free, everything takes 15 years to unlock. I enjoy the missions as a whole but progressing is fucking impossible.

Destiny is a lot more fun than people give it credit for. I hit 40 in about a week purely because I enjoyed it so much, and I'm still playing.

I would go back to Warframe if they sorted their shit out.

As someone who tried to get into Warframe originally on PC and many time reinstalled and quit, I can't get into it. It has an awful player progression system and loot system.

At no point does anything make sense as a new player. Even after doing tons of missions and building frames from pieces friends gave me it was boring. The story is all over the place. If you truly want even one piece of the best gear you have to pay for it with money or dozens, if not hundreds of hours building gear to pawn off of players.

Destiny is a lot more linear, especially vanilla. However with every expansion the game got better. It is more satisfying to do activities both solo and in multiplayer because almost everything progress your character directly but by bit. You feel like ever piece of loot and enemy you defeat is amounting to something more than just a collection f frames. Building my characters over the course of time has been one of the most extremely satisfying gaming experiences I've had. Mastered every activity in the game, very proficient in PvP, every rare pice of loot collected, and I still play it.

The raids are wonderfully lore based activities that have complex enough mechanics for a shooter for most, mastery for the more advanced players.

After over a hundred days of playtime in Destiny and a stop and go 100 or so hours in waframe there is no contest.

Destiny 2 has some seriously concerning features as a hardcore player and we will have to see how it will play out.

Mouse is undeaniably more accurate, but in terms of feeling satisifying, a controller is obviously better. You can "tune" the weapons to have different aiming sensitivity curves due to analog sticks, have rumble, and have an actual trigger you are pulling.
