Amazing
Any tips on how to play this game?
A friend recommended that I get it during the steam sale.

Use the Classic HD version of the game.
Play as Bachelor first.

This might help.
Little girls and drunks are your friends, dig through trash always, learn the layout of the town and all the little shortcuts, and don't fail the day quest on day 1, any other day is fine but day 1 will get you one of the few non-death game overs.
Other than that, the less you know the better.
it good
not modern good
late 90s-early 2000s good
urgently waiting for the remake
2017 sounded very far away when that kickstarter launched
>>383082878
Bless you anon. I literally came here looking for a pathologic thread.
>>383085628
I found it helpful to read a general non-spoiler gameplay guide before diving in. Other than that just read the controls and pay attention while playing.

Does time freeze for every conversation?
I want to talk to random people and ask about the area, but everyone tells me that I'm pressed for time down to the minute.
>>383082878
I'm not big into books
>>383088046
Yes it does
>>383082878
Love the atmosphere, but the dialogue trees feel clunky to me.
Like I'm expected to ask questions in a certain order and end up missing out on info every other time I pick the wrong one.
>>383088046
during any conversation or bartering. also when you look at your status or the map, but NOT when you check you inventory or are looting a container/body
>>383082878
I want to get into it.
But constant ongoing time-limits don't mesh well with me. I get lost easily, and tend to want to explore ever nook and cranny.
The atmosphere is really strong, one of the only games that really gets under my skin. I love the repetitive music and the sound design choices especially. The first time you go into an infected house scared the fuck out of me, desu.
>>383088557
you will have the time to in later days
this is not supoosed to be a free roam game though, think tighter Deadrising
What did you guys think of the Marble's Nest?
I've only played through as the Bachelor, but intend to get around to the others eventually. Very interesting and atmospheric game. Is it normal if I have a slight crush on Ospina
>>383088557
there are console cheats you can use to slow down the speed of time and increase your walking speed, but honestly there's not much of a reward for exploring, and you'll get run all over the town during the story anyway. you can always save and reload, too.
>>383088557
I'd still recommend trying it. Like >>383089119 said, it's not really a free roam game. Fighting against time is really one of the most engaging parts of the game and is a cornerstone of its design.
>>383089119
>>383089515
Fair enough. I think I might go into my first full run expecting to fail while I get my bearings though.
>>383089265
>Ospina
why, friend
why
>>383090182
know that the day 1 quest is the only one you have to complete, anything else the game just keeps on going regardless.
of course this is not without consequences.
>>383082878
everyone in this game talks like a fag
>>383090757
can't appreciate the atmosphere: the postI think it furthers the surrealness
>>383082878
Great game. fuck rats though, they're so hard to stab.
Is the remastered game out yet?
>>383093290
not until autumn, but you can get the demo on steam now, and it's apparently a couple hours long.
>>383093551
Thanks anon!
>>383093290
>>383093551
>>383093632
as icing on the cake, it's a standalone from the main game
>>383093551
Wait this autumn? For real? Please tell me its this autumn.
>>383094351
yep, unless it's delayed again
>>383094046
>standalone from the main game
Like, it's own game?
Why call it Remastered then?
>>383094504
OH FUCK YES
>>383094667
Its more of a reimagining.
>>383094667
I meant the demo is a standalone story from the game it's a demo of.
I love it but its too spooky for me so I'll never beat it. Might watch a video of the rest maybe..
>>383082878
give the dude in your pic a shotgun and you've got some boxart baby
>>383082878
Hella fuckin gay the shooting sucks ass and everything else makes no sense.
>>383094351
It's definitely going to be delayed again, there are only 2-3 months left until the promised release date and they haven't shown anything new since December of last year.
>>383094667
It's actually kind of sort of but not really a sequel to the original, based on things people found in the demo. It's a different iteration of the loop that is the sand plague destroying the steppe.
>>383100132
Easier way to explain it is to just call it a parallel timeline where things are fairly different because it's a big fucking loop
>>383097648
>they haven't shown anything new since December of last year
are you not following the blog? they've been doing regular (for IPL at least) updates on shit. there was one in june about character animations.
>>383101785
And they were all from either the original game or the Marble Nest. All the other updates since December have been about incidental stuff like the soundtrack or the boardgame.
I'm still hyped for the game, but realistically speaking there's nothing to suggest that they will be able to make the release date.
Both Pathologic and The Void are among the few legitimate arguments for 'video games as art'
>>383103723
Agreed.
>>383089265
> Is it normal if I have a slight crush on Ospina
I claimed her first
Find another waifu
>>383082878
Absolutely terrible.
I like it anyway.
>>383103723
I do sometimes have trouble appreciating the art while I'm sweating over my constantly draining color.
But then I get to cool off in a chamber and I'm reminded again
>>383109060
>waifuing the physical manifestation of working-class rage
Good luck with that.
I'm not an homossexual edgelord so I don't care about it
>>383103723
can you further explain why the void is so great? i watched a vid on it and wasn't totally convinced, although the video was kinda weak
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzS6RwXC-eI
>>383103723
I'm a big snob when it comes to art, but these games really are.
kind of boring, I stopped after 2 hours
http://vsrecommendedgames.wikia.com/wiki/Scary_Horror_%26_Mindfuck
Here ya go, fucking 5 seconds of googlin'.
>>383113762
The Void and Pathologic have the longest descriptions.
>>383082878
I'm expecting my GOTY
Absolutely love the direction the soundtrack has gone in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RzMzS6Jt_UI
