It's obviously not a Gameboy Color game, because it has more than 4 colors. It's not a Game Gear either because of the dimensions of the screen. And it's not an Atari Lynx because there were only like 2 games for it. It's not a Gameboy Advance or upwards because it doesn't have the colors for it.

So it's either an NGP, which it is, or a Wonderswan. And the fact that the screen shot is some variant of Samurai Shodown lets me think it was Neo Geo related.

Enemy Infestation.

It's actually pretty damn cool with unique gameplay mechanics. You can use all sorts of different items to try to combat the aliens (fire extinguisher, ray gun, electric attack, etc) but the catch is that the effects of each item are unknown until you use them (and they're different each time you play). Sometimes you might hurt or kill the creature, but sometimes you might make the alien multiply or evolve into a stronger form.

Yeah, they had a free giveaway on Bundle Stars a year or so ago and I played through it.

Stunlocking literally everything with the basic punch was hilarious and the holy water trivialized the shit out of bosses. Crime Fighter. Deceptively named, you actually play as a criminal in what I could best describe as a GTA roguelike. The multiplayer is actually hot-seat turn based which is weird. The combat is grid turn based.

DANGEROUS HEAVEN. This was a DVD game made by Microids Italy under another name.
It came out in 2006 in Italy and in late 2007 in Spain.

I bought it at GameSpot for 1,50€. It looked stupid and I wanted to see how bad it was.
Basically most of the initial copies of the game were broken. No matter what/when you pressed on the remote or computer keyboard, half of the time it wouldn't work for shit. I got one of those, apparently.
The initial sequence would only respond to the first two commands and whenever you failed you got this stupid ass smiling cutscene at 2:47, forever stuck in my mind now.
