I'm almost positive those games were the first to introduce executions, or "parries". They called them "banes" in game though. Like you had to get skill points to unlock the "orc bane."

I'd be okay with button combos, with one button assigned to pistols when pistols or weapon is unequipped. So anytime a combo needs that button, it introduces the weapon into the combo.

I don't know how it would work with the weapons equipped/unholstered though. Mayyyybe execution room clearing moves like the new Splinter Cells, only you have a small window to manually aim for every shot and any non head shot doesn't always get the kill. Has to be a better way to introduce that type of game play though.

Regardless, yes. Would love some new creative ways to play 3rd person shooters.

Ghost Recon Future Soldier was fun online. They introduced agility combo's through rolling, slamming into cover, plus a Gears-Like roadie run. It was so beautifully fluid.

In general though, there was a time where movie games used to get the most attention from developers.

Now though, creativity is at an all time low. Production values are high, but the actual ability to create fun gameplay is at an alllll time low.
