It's pretty comfy, though it needs a faster sprint. I have a river farm and wish I could move the main house to the center island. I don't even know the names of the townspeople. As long as it's not like Harvest Moon where you get booted out of town for not wifing someone, I don't care to interact with them. It's especially off putting since interaction is almost always just to give them gifts like I'm some kind of weekly Santa Clause. Better than the dog though, thing just runs around, barks, and sleeps in the way of the tv.

Eh it takes a while to kick off in terms of how much you can do. There's a lot of stuff to do in the game, in terms of planning out your farm, crafting stuff to make it more efficient (i.e. sprinklers), exploring the caves, the community centre, marriage etc.

But I admit it's not to everyone's tastes. I picked it up last year and tried it for an hour and got bored. Now, I love it.

Bought it during the recent sale. I've been enjoying it so far. Pretty much all of the Bachelors aren't interesting to me. Only ones are Harvey and Elliot.

The women are for the most part interesting though, right now I'm looking between either Penny or Emily. But that'll wait until I've got solid income coming in. Just made it through the first month, right now I'm just growing on fertilized Tomatos along side occasionally Adventuring or Fishing to kill time/earn money.

Nope. There is no repercussion to taking as long as you want. Maybe the only thing that could be considered a punishment, is the evaluation you get at the end of your second year. Which you can retake later on for the max reward.

I hit 100 hours in this game and never intend to play it again seriously. Yeah it was a relaxing 100 hours but I don't care about doing the casino stuff, buying wizard crap, or doing all the relationship shit to get kids. I don't really play these kind of games and I just got bored and burned out after getting the community center and getting to the desert. The dev did a lot for the game but he should've ignored the consolefags and give us built in multiplayer features. It would be pretty interesting to have a lobby full of randoms farming randomly.

In short, its a crafty well thought skinner box to get people to keep playing as theyre mesmorized by the soundtrack and better farming shit and money to upgrade your house, but ultimately a bland game.

If you like Harvest Moon, then give it a try. Characterisation is a bit weak, but gameplay's solid. Visuals can be fixed with the many mods available.

I didn't like any of the characters in Stardew Valley. They were all unlikeable. A lot of them were cuntish assholes.

Yeah, the social interaction is pretty limited unfortunately. There's a ton of junk to find and do, but it's mostly just dripfed work to improve your farm.

Games like HM64 wisely ended after Y2 so you had a year of poverty, a year of completion, then the game reaches its win/lose state.

By winter of Y1 in SDV you can with luck from the cart finish the Community Center (or go the corporate path). Once that's done all that's left is to fulfill the insanely grindy library stuff or gamble for shit you don't want.
