Starting off with this classic
Old mans war and the ghost brigades
It would be AAA trash like halo 5 but id like it anyway
Enders game would be a sick game though
>>383055137
Slaughterhouse 5.
Goodnight, Mister Tom.
This one would be pretty cool
Brave New World
Lolita
>>383055137
Foxe's Book of Martyrs
You could make a good video game out of anything.
>>383055930
Objectively false
>>383055360
>Ender's
Might be cool. You play the whole school zero g battle sims, then suddenly the game shifts into a commander position. It is also interspersed with THE GAME dream like sequences as a plat-former. (I forget what the video game Ender had to play and kept getting stuck on the giant's choice or whatever was called) You'd have to make like three good ass game systems though.
DLC where you play as Bean and your Ender choices from your first save effect your new game.
hell, I'd play the shit out of a VR Zero G team fighter if it was good. I want to shoot out of a ship made of paralyzed children.
Kinslayer
Steampunk combined with samurai
A deepness in the sky.
The potential is there for some unusual 4x/space trading combo with the qeng ho but we all know they'd just do a shitty stealth game centered around the bits taking place around the time of the actual story
A Scanner Darkly
>>383056102
name one (1) concept that would OBJECTIVELY not work as a game
not "would not be fun"
I mean "would not be possible"
The media outrage would be epic and it would be so edgy. I'd be sated for years.
Snow crash with a vagina needle/penis mini game.
>>383055137
The Witcher series
>>383056746
Not the guy you're quoting, but if it's not fun it's not a good video game.
Rust, with kids.
>>383056969
Catcher in the Rye
>catch the children before they fall
>>383055610
>you have to learn to control your character one body part at a time
>>383056746
What about Flatland
Blood Meridian
Basically RDR but even bleaker and way more upsetting
>>383056746
Tolstoy's Confessions
The Game Players of Titan.
>>383055565
BLOIMEY THAT'S STRAIGHTER THAN A RULER
I don't know if that quote is accurate but I've always associated it with the film
>>383058056
>>383057821
I want this.
Telltale Discworld fucking WHEN
>>383057179
I can see being some sort of game akin to Life is Strange, pretentious dialogue, frivolous choices, and a completely insufferable main character.
Naturally, one half of the gaming community will praise it and the other half will actively condemn it.
The Collector
You play as Miranda trying to escape but you always get the bad ending no matter what you do because Frederick is fucking inept
;__;
>>383059484
me on the left
and today we learned /v/ doesn't read books
>>383055137
Os lusiadas
>>383056625
I want to read this now just based off of that cover.
>>383055137
I had to read this fucking book in a historical writing class
god damn was it boring
>>383055137
>Pear stealing simulator
Why not?
The boring sequel nobody wanted
>>383061962
>Virgil and friends' mountain climbing travelogue
Literally skip to paradiso desu
Pride and Prejudice
Dance dance revolution with dating sim
idk
maybe it could work
>>383061028
Woah there never judge a book by it's cover
>>383056746
Lord of the flies. No matter what, you always play as dumb wimpy kid, that has to fight against other kids.
>>383063526
Sounds pretty cool as a small-scale civ game
Roadside Picnic
>>383055137
I could use a dog adventure game
>>383055137
Better yet OP, books that DID make shit video games:btw, the girl that played Lyra is a woman now, and she is gorgeous and has giant E-Cup breasts.
>>383056198
Playable battle simulator from Ender's Game sounds sick as fuck.
>>383055610
>What is Civilization
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
Imagine trying to do simple tasks but since you are on every drug that's sold it's fucking impossible to control.probably wouldn't be fun
>>383062402
>skip
i can't let you do that Dave
the witcher
>>383065260
itd work as a shitty physics game like I Am Bread
THE NIGHT lAND
FUCKIN DO IT
>>383064132
>Better yet OP, books that DID make shit video games:
I do think that this book could make for a great modern adventure game though. I was so into the books circahigh school.
>btw, the girl that played Lyra is a woman now, and she is gorgeous and has giant E-Cup breasts.
You fucking what? I never did watch the movie, because I heard it was hot shit, but damn, son. I'm off to google.
>>383055137
I literally just bought that book. Oxford World Classics version too. Is it life changing? Perfect? Amazing? Or just historically interesting (why I bought it)?
>>383065868
It's lit if you like Christianity. The last like 3 books are way out of left field tho.
>>383065754
>You fucking what? I never did watch the movie, because I heard it was hot shit, but damn, son. I'm off to google.
Here comes the areoplane!
>>383065360
i have a book for you
>>383056969
>>383066048
What do you mean by like Christianity? I'm really interested in it historically, especially early/late antiquity Christianity, and, though not a Christian myself, have been surrounded by it and appreciate it.
>>383066201
>>383066360
Jesus, this chick is fucking stacked.
>>383056102
Subjectively true.
>>383066253
Well it's the story of how Augustine found Christianity, and he doesn't let you forget it. He wrote all of it down so that people could use his story to help them convert to Christianity.
Throughout the entire book, he gives praise to the Lord, and while the content of the book is interesting, I could easily see non-Christians hating the book because of how it handles it's subject.
>>383066612
implicitly misleading
>>383055137
Would make a pretty comfy VN or point-and-click. You could be Mack or Doc.
>>383055137
What about foundation? A scifi rpg where you get to see the long term effects of your decisions through different characters.
That book series about those animals that fought shit and made delicious sounding food
>>383067287
Redwall?
>>383066229
the witcher 2
Would the Bible be a good video game?
>>383067408
>The Bible
>A book
It's made up of 66 books ye knob
>>383064117
Literally a game
Don Quixote is my favorite book and could be a cool game.
It would be a hybrid adventure game/crazy DMC action type game where Don Quixote hallucinates and thinks he's fighting legions of monsters. But really he's doing stupid shit and is making a huge mess that Sancho has to clean up in the alternate game mode.
>>383067408
Only parts of the Old Testament and The Book of Revelations would be able to be made into a game people could enjoy, from what I heard, Bayonetta uses exact descriptions of the angles used in Revelations
>>383055137
Augustine was a fucking lunatic and the original tendies kid.
>>383056746
Without going too far, a Superman game. I mean, you can make it, but it wouldn't do justice to the character or would be boring.
A Perfect Day for Bananafish
>>383067517
66 video games; just have the Chinese stick them all into a single cartridge and call it a day.
>>383068157
That is simply not true.
>>383067659
A serious one
>>383068157
Just make Kid Icarus: Uprising with Platinum style combat. It's not hard at all, DC are a bunch of lazy fucks that won't put in the initiative to make one.
>>383069660
This. Give me off-rails sections that were basically God Hand/Bayonetta-meets-Zone of the Enders 2 and on-rails flying parts that are like what you said. Boom, you have a fantastic action game.
>>383055137
The belgariad
it'd be fun too
>>383055137
hunger games
>>383055137
Paradise Lost
I really want a RPG style game based around a demon civilisation
Maybe Wayne Barlowe's God's Demon would be more suitable
>>383056198
>DLC
Fuck no. It should be included already in the game. No microtrans actions, no DLC.
>>383064132
>>383065754
She was great in Skins.
>>383055137
>>383066510
>>383066360
>>383066201
>>383064132
Shit, I want to fucking kill myself now
They can't even play the complete script without switching out actors
Literally SMT the game, though I'd imagine there's a further emphasis on demon utility besides combat that you'd use to solve problems you encounter, like for example you need to get past a gate that's guarded by guards without starting a fight with them. You just have to really know your demon lore to avoid demons screwing you over.
>>383066884
Openly clear.
Really most of Issac Asimov's books would be cool videogames.
>>383056739
I think flow my tears would lend itself better to a vidya adaptation.
The stars my destination, great story but literally fast travel: the game.
>>383073989
Any game with a magic system based on real world practises would be dope.
>find a secret order
>become initiated
>reach adepthood
>recruit Neophytes
>train them to adepthood
>go around pulling magick hijinks with wizard bros
>>383055137
hyperian cantos
>>383074139
Foundation is so boring. Gave up on book 2. Asimov is overrated.
The Book of The New Sun by Gene Wolfe would make a kickass game though.
>>383075921
wow what a faggot.
>>383056746
Any Ayn Rand book
>>383076091
Tis you who exude faggotry
>>383075921
>Foundation is Boring
It is one of the best Sci Fi books ever made though.
Is Saint Augustine a normie?
>A boss rush mode with all those demons kinda life fury
i know the SMT games but its not the same thing...
>>383056739
write a few more endings and I think it could make a good VN
Moby Dick. I'd settle for a whaling game or even a game that switches between many genres
>>383077090
>>383076470
Its really not. Asimov's prose is extremely dry and his characters have no personality, they exist purely as vehicles for the plot. Dick, Clarke, Herbert (Sr.), Wolfe, hell even Jose Farmer are better authors with far more interesting ideas.
>>383057720
Reading this at the moment, it's a fucking slog dude. Could make a decent game if done well. Trying to avoid the kgb then having to try and survive in the gulag.
>>383072035
thats real cheeki breeki iv damkem8
DUNE it would have to be an mmo and take place sometime after the scattering so that there would be an assload of factions to join.
Omfg I don't know why someone hasn't done it yet :((((((( I love these books iv fallen in love damnit
>>383067838
I'd play it
>>383076779
>fucked bitches
>learned as fuck
definitely
