Let's have another one since the last one was pretty good honestly.

Recommend your favourite mech/a games, let other anons know about possible gems they've missed, argue about stupid shit like the RX-78-2's legs etcs.

>>

Japan vs America is happening this August
Location and specific date is unknown
The Kuratas team has been keeping quiet for years but Kogoro Kurata's blog implies that they have upgraded it.
The match will make or break this kind of stuff

loving this setup for now, looking for an actual mech that "feels" right other than the basic one

Here's hoping people aren't expecting these things to be dancing around like ballerinas. At most I'm expecting a demolition derby with arms swinging.

Just gonna mention it because I think what a lot of people enjoy from mech games is the customization side of things.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3-DVXm_4ir4

Gundam Breaker 3 has an Asia version with English text and it's all about going absolutely batshit insane with creating your own Gunpla model.

Mech games that focus on customization rarely if ever have cockpit views. It defeats the purpose of creating your own personal mech when you can't even see it in action.

In my opinion, the mechiest mech of Brigador -after the Touro- is the Spacer Broodmare.
I usually pack a Banshee on the main mount for cleaning out the rabble, and a Bishop on the heavy. Or the Harvester artillery piece, when I'm feeling the need to be extra pointlessly destructive.
>>
>>383047206
The level of customization I'm talking about is dozens of times more in-depth than in Mechwarrior, friend. Gundam Breaker 3 lets you go absolutely retarded. You can go into full autistic detail, adding crests and wings and other shit at the exact angle you want, rotating secondary guns on the arms so they fit your idea of good looking in your head. This isn't just a case of "swap what weapons are equipped." I can mix and match over one hundred different mobile suit parts for literal millions of combinations and paint it any colour I want.

Wanna add on to this; the "Welcome Price" edition is the original base game but at a reduced price, while the "Break Edition" is the base game + all DLC packs for the price of the original game. Break edition is easily worth the extra couple bucks for the extra parts you get out of it.

Arms give a little more control over the weapons you put on them, you don't have to move the entire torso to aim. Arms with hands at least makes sense because you can do other shit with them, arms that are just guns are kinda derp.

>inb4 turrets and the eventual tanks>mechs shitfest

>>
>>383050560
The HD edition, yeah.
It's not a great game though, especially compared to the second one, mainly because it's hella slow and for some goddamn reason they didn't put a hard lock-on function, Saikyou Exodus is basically AC:MOA meets Diablo.
>>383050772
It's a pretty fun Hack and Slash, don't expect something like Armored Core.
Besides, the trailers don't really show you much of the actual contents, like all of the different weapons like chainsaws, satellite cannons or mechanics like Lethal Mode and so on.
>>
>>383051274
it's looks pretty boring compared to hack n slash games too. need demo at least
>>
>>383051206
The content is in the base game to begin with; the pre-order "bonus" was just a code that gave you a set of the parts as soon as you start the game rather than having to grind them yourself.

Also it's best mech game period which can give you that awesome feel of empowering when you finally get your mech. You see it as soon you enter NewLA, it's not available even for test, you need to work for it and wait. And when you finally get it, you are free and more powerful than ever.
That was the tits, I honestly don't know other game which does this as well.

You want a mech game that's just a third person shooter?
Also Gundam Breaker is about fucking model kits, the last thing you would get from it is simulation aspects.
go play Zeonic Front or something if you want a "gritty" gundam game

but you seem to hate slow mechs and fast flying mechs, or anything that doesn't fit your definition of what a "mech" is

Timber wolves already have their torsos filled to the brim with weaponry, there's no space to put their arm guns in their side torsos.

You have to remember battletech has a (probably overly) detailed mech building process with critical points and tonnage and the placement of weapons has to follow this.
>>
What game can fill the void that EVA has left on me?

>You have to remember battletech has a (probably overly) detailed mech building process

Anon, it's primitive on all accounts.
You get more in-depth customization in a generic shooter like Battlefront or Call of Duty nowadays.

It's one of the series' pitfalls.
The system created for the TT game god knows when was made by a retard in a garage, scribbled on a blanket and sold to enthusiasts at 2 bucks a pop.
But to change it would mean you'd have to make sure whatever new system also accommodates the hundreds of designs already in the game and you'd also have to fight a horde of old autistic shit stains who value it as if that turd was their kid.
Even the guy who made the system tried his hardest to change it whenever he had the chance but he has to fight the dumb hordes in order to fix anything (heavily apparent during the new game's development where he made basic changes obvious even to a toddler and they all went apeshit over just who the hell he thinks he is and that they know better so he MUST change everything back, break that front glass of the car again because they enjoy how flies collect on their fat face as the BTech ride continues forward).
>>

Being 30 feet tall probably has more of an impact than an extra 3 feet on each side. You kinda have to throw this to the wind when you make a mech.

Its an anthropomorphization of modern warfare coupled with generic science fiction tropes, fighter aircraft and desert storm tanks, depending on the specific series in question.

For some reason we just really like making shit look like us, armored vehicles included.

Couple that with the joy of being a small child knocking over lego towers and you have the mecha genre.

Except for the phawk. The battlemaster and half a dozen other mechs.

Plus there's mechs with battlefists specifically designed to survive punching things. In TT and lore they don't keep them at 90. Nor in many MW games. The new BT 3025 shows them off really well incorporating mêlée. Even the pigs shitty MWO doesn't 90 degree them. And piggy suck.

No NA release. Asia English or bust.
If you don't mind digital copies, you can get it from the Singapore PS store (must be Singapore; no other Chinky shit has the English one) for 80 Singapore funbucks.
If you want physical, it should be easy enough to find with a quick google search.

Yeah, there's no region lock on the PS4 so it doesn't matter where your PS4 or games come from.
>and have menus subtitled to english?
Only if you specifically buy the one labelled "English subs", otherwise you're going to end up with Chinese or some shit.

Pretty much every OZ suit is a candidate for best.
Between those and their uniforms, they're probably the top Gundam faction in terms of aesthetics. Shame about the lack of ships though.
Would love a vidya like Zeonic Front, but playing as OZ. Could start sometime in the 20 years before Wing and end up following the series' plot at some point.

The likes of Mechwarrior and Earthsiege can use 2 joysticks on a chassis/turret configuration (instead of Virtual-On's twin thruster setup).

>>
>>383095018
Depends on the system. For PC:

Mechcommander (1 and 2) is a classic and is great even now.

Mechwarrior 4 is a classic as well. Though you might have some problems running it on a modern OS. I had to change a single digit in the config and it looks great though.

For MP games Mechwarrior Online is free, and gameplay is good, but it's a grindfest. No pay2win though. Real money mechs are mostly shit. You can comfortably buy 2-3 mechs after you finish the tutorial, so I would recommend at least trying it out without spending a single cent.

Front Mission series (especially older titles) can be emulated easily. PS1-2 ones are among my favorite games, I think.

Gypsy Danger was already relatively slim compared to the other Jaegers. Striker Eureka actually looks rather stocky when stood next to it as it's shorter and thicker.

I know the Statue of Liberty and Godzilla are totally out of whack on this chart, but the Jaegers' silhouettes are all okay relative to each other.
