lmao what

It's fucking impossible to get "stuck" in FFX because of wrong sphere grid path you fucking neanderthal.

Not to mention he's perfectly beatable on no sphere grid run.
You fuckers need to learn how to play your fucking games.
>>
>>383000089

Are you this stupid or just memeing?
ffx is possible the hardest ff in the whole series; hell, even the grinding in ff 3 was a lot easy than converging quantum parameters for doing 9999 of dmg
Also, the dragon isn't possible without auron or waka development. Instead of being stupid you could, don't know, play the game

It's called "discovery" and "learning". Figuring out and trying to solve what is the best way to do things is half the fun in any game ever.

I've been doing this for 2 years with Dragon Age Origins. I have 70hours played but from my estimates I barely played more than 20% of the game every time...

Anyone has any suggestions? I often find myself not knowing which quests from my log to do and which not.

Same story with New Vegas.
>>
>>382999880
This. Hardship makes me :( and I don't need that kind of darkthink ruining my day.

>>383000747
FFX is the hardest FF only because it requires a little more than:
>attack
>attack
>attack
>potion
>attack
>attack
>attack
>attack
>cure all
>attack
>attack
etc.

Everything the guy you responded to is still true. FFX is completely beatable without ever touching the sphere grid.

>>
>>382996486
Does that ever realistically happen in videogames?

Even with a character that only trains non-combat skills, you can probably get by with just the base attack and smart item use (in most RPGs)
>>
>>382996878
Happened to me in FFX in the Yuna Aeons battle after Bevellle. Nowhere to farm and couldn't beat the other guy. I quit the game and later restart years after.
>>
>>383001046
I dunno, I think you should stop taking so many quests first off. That shit just by seeing how many you picked up tires you out like you obligated to do them.
Secondly you should probably not divide your attention between so many games.
>>
>>383002486

It can happen in FF7 at Golden Saucer, since the fight is a 1 on 1 with a character you don't have access to while in the "dungeon." But even then with smart materia/item use it's possible

>too weak for warrior, not enough health and str
>too weak for mage, low int and mana
>better was just stick to one tree and leave other empty
>beat the game by alot of corpse running and shooting final boss of screen
(it was wiser to pick double warrior or double mage trees becouse it has different skill but same passive bonuses to health/str or int-mana)

I keep doing this. I'll start a game play it for a while then decide to start another game, get hooked on that for a while, start another game, etc until I end up back at the first game a month later. Then I can't remember what the fuck I was doing and so I restart, get back to where I stopped last time and move on to the other game I stopped played and have to restart because I don't remember what the fuck I was doing or what I need to do, etc. It's an endless cycle for me. There are so many games I want to finish. I'll get in the mood to play through a game without stopping every once in a while and that's when I finish a game but other than that I keep starting, stopping and restarting games all the time. Why the fuck do I do this to myself... fuck.

I remember, in Venetica you had finite XP and after several hours in you arrive in a city and you have to buy a skill to progress the main quest. It is literally impossible to progress because there is a flying enemy or something and you can't reach it without your drain power.

However if you are a completionist fag it is possible to do every available side quest before you start that up and know the game doesn't give you the skill or XP for the skill. It just expects you go straight there and then fuck around with the sidequests. You can't redistribute skillpoints as well.

There was a ps2 gane that was guilty of this. It had some guy on the cover holding a green glowing ring. Yiu had to craft magic rings that would cast spells. You cone make one that sent out a slow moving orb of death, and it was great because everything was slow.

Until the dragon boss that moves like a wasp and could hit for shit. If you didn't have alot of back up shit, else was just about impossible.

Nice reading comprehension, retard.
There's a difference between making something hard for those who build their chars wrongly and making something impossible.

Making the player 'get stuck' and unable to progress is just bad game design.
Making the player have a hard time, but it still being possible to beat the game, is a good punishment for bad decisions.

If the player uses tactics effectively and there are some non-lethal/support options for non-combat builds, then any build should be able to beat the game.

Forcing the player into one specific play style runs contrary to the philosophy of RPGs (freedom of choice).

Choice only matters if there are consequences. What you propose isn't an RPG - it's a press-x-to-win with meaningless stats. If every build can beat the game then why have builds at all? How many times have you played as a fighter with all points into intelligence and none into weapon skills or endurance? In fact why even allocate points at all - surely you should be able to beat the game with any build, right?

"Consequences" should come from choices I make in the story and in quests, not because I wanted to play as a thief, but the game was designed around a warrior. Why the fuck would I play a class I don't enjoy playing?

And no, pouring all your points into intelligence isn't retarded if you design your game properly, since intelligence allows you to pass skill checks and hacking minigames that give you extra resources that give you an edge.

Useless skills are a result of lazy design. Full stop.

Any good GM in an actual tabletop campaign will tell you if your build is entirely unsuitable for the kinds of things you'll be facing.

Why wouldn't you expect the same from a CRPG which is substantially less flexible than even the most railroaded tabletop campaign?

Lol at all these fags who think going any build should allow you to beat an rpg. I agree that reset potions are a good idea, but just being able to mindlessly put points into anything and finish the game brings no challenge and thought to the process. You instead rely on inputs for 100% of the difficulty instead of both brains and skills.

It seems like people in this thread are taking this to ridiculous degrees where even not covering those weaknesses should still allow you to win.

I mean, building a well-balanced, efficient party is part of the challenge in RPGs to begin with, so fucking that up should rightfully make things harder for you.

Now if it makes things virtually impossible, that's another story but unless you're playing a game with downright cruel game design or you're screwing everything up on purpose, it never happens.

Pic unrelated, I assume? Honestly, that applies more to Oblivion and Skyrim than to Morrowind, and even then every single Elder Scrolls game is extremely forgiving compared to the vast majority of RPGs when it comes to making a poor build thanks to the fact that they don't lock you out from skills based on your class. But Morrowind's by far the most forgiving of them all since it has the least level scaling elements, which actually makes the non-combat skills even more useful since you can use speech, stealth, or mobility skills and spells to gain access to the best items to make up for your lack of combat stats, instead of those items not existing or literally being scaled down to your level.

The only TES game the OP would even remotely apply to is Battlespire, since if you put your points in skills instead of attributes you are fucked because skills can level by grinding but are capped at the value of their governing attribute, so it's a complete waste of points to level skills beyond getting the minimum effectiveness out of them to be useable.

Dude, in vanilla, IZJS, and Zodiac Age, stats mean shit when you can max out most stats anyways. Anyways, equipment and gambits were always more important than overall max stats.
You can use anyone you like, and even if Vaan and Penelo are just kids tagging on a field trip, they add a comedic dynamic to the overall serious cast. Besides, you can play from the four better characters.
