It's a really good homage towards the horror movies. I really hope they will make sequels with different characters and settings. It starts to fall flat a little once the supernatural elements play in though imo. But that only happens around 3/4 in the game and it is actually the same effect you get when watching a real horror movie that starts to become boring, once the mystery is explained and the threat clear.

IMO watch the first episode of "insert random streamer here"'s playthrough and judge if you want to buy it from that.

I did that the week it came out without even knowing a damn thing about it, and it ended up being an amazing experience. If you like Classic 80's/90's horror movies, you'll like this game.
