There's no market in pandering to morons. I wouldn't want to make that kind of money.

Grimoire is an elite game that is unlike anything else up on the Steam store. I defy you to find anything like it in the thousands of games listed. I defy you to find a game like it on the planet. It's not even a Wizardry clone really - it's everything Wizardry should have been but never was.

I'm not competing with Sir-Tech any more. Amongst other reasons, they went bankrupt 17 years ago.

I'm not competing with anybody. Grimoire is the pinnacle of the peak of the summit of the incline. I could probably get 99.95 from a lot of people but I don't want to limit it just to the very elect of RPG players. I made a compromise and and priced it somewhere just under current AAA titles. The truth is there is not an AAA title you could buy nowadays that deserves to crawl up on a high chair and plant a kiss in the crack of Grimoire's ass when it comes to enjoyment, immersion and wonderful escape.

I say all this with confidence because I have been playing my game 12 hours a day for two months and I can assure you there has never been anything like it in all of recorded human history. It's the greatest thing ever to emerge from that genre. The fact is, people who enjoy that genre are considering it cheap at that price. If you are not a connoisseur of the genre then why would I amend anything in it to appeal to you? It's like saying Mozart needed more cowbell.

Trust what I am saying. Those of you who played the demo and got the scent of greatness will know the full game has achieved it. For whatever it lacks it has much more in abundance.

I was just playing Kublai Cathedral to check all the logic and was almost weeping tears of joy at how wonderfully told the story of everything is in the game. I had forgotten a lot of it and it was like reading the work of someone else.
>>
too much fur bait tbqh desu

also I seriously hope the game allows you to kill NPCs like in elter scrolls
>>
The game will suck you mentally into another dimension of win and excellence, no kidding. I warn unstable people against playing it at all. If it becomes that kind of obsession with the author - who should be long tired of it by now - you can imagine what elite fans RPGs will feel.

The game is special. I have supercharged it with awesomeness right down to the atomic level of every bit in the digital binary. $39.95 is very cheap once you have played the game for a short while.

>The first room
The puzzle in the first room is hard to describe, but what I can say about it is that it was actually SO difficult, that the second printing of the game, the instruction manual came with a sealed section with the solution of the first room and how to get out of it. It was so notorious that the creators of the game would give you a prize if you mailed them a photo of the end credits and the still-sealed instruction manual proving that you solved the first room on your own.

The Wizardry games were fine for the time, but they have a loooot of issues. I'd like to see an actual modern Wizardry-like game that properly had the appeal of the old games while being much better in general. It's a genre that doesn't get explored enough.

That's clearly not what the developer of this game is going for. Aside from the fact that you can Auto-Heal, Auto-Walk and it Auto-Maps for you, this game is straight out of 1998. Have you seen the number of attributes and skills it has? Dump stats galore, hope you're ready for a lot of trial and error or you bought the digital manual, goy.

Do you guys think this game would be a good buy for someone who hasn't played Wizardry, but has played Etrian Odyssey, Ultima Underworld and System Shock? What I like most about these games isn't so much the combat but the exploration, the feeling of really getting to know the dungeon/labyrinth/space station.

I'm thinking of buying because the dev said their will be a sale when the game first comes out, but not for years afterwards. On the other hand I just bought a load of games in the steam sale, and 35-40$ is a lot to spend on an indie game.

There's a reason I used the word "modern."

They've evolved into their own style of game.

he could keep the sapes out by exclusively releasing it only to the "lot of people" "i could probably get 99.95 from"
he seems to know who these people are anyway, and if they are really interested in the genre they know who he is and can figure out how to contact him. He is selling the game for profit, however minute, plain and simple and that is commercial.

That's a real pity.
I buy games at GOG because they are DRM free and GOOD OLD GAMES like they used to make them.
Besides, there is a higher chance that the people who buy from GOG would be more interested in Grimoire and inclined to buy it than the average 12 year old Steam toddler.

I haven't bought anything from Steam since 2011 when I realised what a despicable, money sucking businessman Gaben who does not give a fuck about vidya anymore truly has become.

I have two options now; pirate the game and get to play it or don't. The urge to play it is too big to resist.
If it was on GOG I would have gladly given him my $40.

Corwin doesn't know what he is missing, seriously. The game is x infinity better than the version he tested.

Listen to what I was double-checking today. You're not going to believe it.

So I freed Q'Orl from the Royal Bestiary and he left to go to the Astral Plain. I also fought the cockatrice here and got the braid.

After sawing off the lock at [REDACTED] I noticed it was pretty solid gold so I spoke to one of the thieves in the woods about it. He told me something amazing - that there was a smith in Crowl who could work a piece of raw gold like that into some pretty spectacular armour. I took it back to Smithy and he told me to leave it with him, he'd see what he could do.

I went off and had some amazing adventures in a dungeon to the far west and discovered a Djinn Bottle. I got the Djinn to reveal the secret page for me and later I asked him to transport us to the Astral Plain. We met up with Q'Orl again and he gave us something very special in reward for traveling so far to see him again. We moongated back to Dominion Wilderness outside the city and I spent some time forging a recommendation letter for Shrike to see if we could join up with the Vanguard.

I went back to see Smithy, stopping at another weird cave for some excellent rewards before arriving back in Crowl. I was increasingly getting pretty fitted out, the entire party was wielding some pretty serious weapons and magic.

Smithy had made me the best armor in the game, the golden armor. Pretty pimped out at this point, plus two resurrected party members from bones and one of the Ego entities had joined us and they had gargantua stats. Was getting in shape to beat up some of the toughest monsters in the game. All this happened today just wandering around testing and double-checking various elements of gameplay.

It's so dense it is like those 12000 page novels written out in longhand on legal paper they find in the apartments of adult retards when they die.

It's so dense it is as thick as jungle foliage that you need two machetes to clear a trail through.

There are wheels within wheels in Grimoire and wheels inside of those wheels. Those wheels have little wheels inside them running wheels. Grimoire is a fractal it is so dense.

Sorry, but after two months of playing my own game I have to say that Crusaders Wizardry 7 is just a pale shadow of this win and excellence. I started as an imitator but I am finishing as something else.

So basically you can skip 90% of the content just by doing a handful of quests with a bit of metagame information without consequence? The exploration stuff sounds neat but if you happen upon some of this stuff by chance it could take a lot of the experience away by giving you SWORD OF ALL-SLAYING when you are level 1 and you never have to upgrade that character's weapon ever again because they can kill almost anything thrown at them straight out of the gates

I wouldn't say he is a moron, but he is definitely out of the loop (still being stuck in the past, making a game in his armageddon bunker) on how the internet and piracy works these days.

It's just odd that the thought hasn't crossed his mind that GOG is specifically for people who are interested in old-style games. That's the sole reason GOG was founded in the first place.
My theory is that he would have been much more successful relasing the game over there. But then again what the fuck do I know. I haven't spent 20 years of my life trying to make THE PERFECT dungeon crawler.

>Thereupon many statesmen and philosophers came to Alexander with their congratulations, and he expected that Diogenes of Sinope also, who was tarrying in Corinth, would do likewise. But since that philosopher took not the slightest notice of Alexander, and continued to enjoy his leisure in the suburb Craneion, Alexander went in person to see him; and he found him lying in the sun. Diogenes raised himself up a little when he saw so many people coming towards him, and fixed his eyes upon Alexander. And when that monarch addressed him with greetings, and asked if he wanted anything, "Yes," said Diogenes, "stand a little out of my sun."

>It is said that Alexander was so struck by this, and admired so much the haughtiness and grandeur of the man who had nothing but scorn for him, that he said to his followers, who were laughing and jesting about the philosopher as they went away, "But truly, if I were not Alexander, I would be Diogenes.

IGN is full of subhuman millenial Redditor casual normieshits who never played anything before the Wi and Xbox 360.

Yeah they were totally eradicating the disease without vaccines mang. I do give you however, that improving medical technology and better living conditions DO also reduce the incidence of disease. For example, before the introduction of the tank respirator, the death rate of polio was almost as high as its incidence rate (Before polio got eradicated by, you know, vaccination)

Diogenes is part of the great 4 ancient Greek philosophers for a reason, you brainlet.
He was the counterweight to Plato, Socrates and Aristotle and kept their self-masturbatory circlejerkfests in check by calling out their bullshit.

If you are not a literal sub-saharian nigger it is likely you have some neanderthal DNA as well. Our ancestors literally fucked Homo neanderthalensis to extinction.

I don't know why Cleve insists so much on this shit about belonging to a species that literally got SAPIENED to oblivion.

Grimoire has the properties of both wizardry 7 and m&m.

Telling a fat autist anything is a waste of time. He won't take it on board, and will probably post autistic rants about you for the next 20 years.

your memeing wrong. neanderthal is the GOOD gene. homo sapiens are the dumbos.
>>
>>383021153
There's immersion in a good setting taken to an unhealthy extreme, and there's becoming a bitter homunculus through an autistic quest to triumph over poorly designed, pointlessly hard RPGs.

What wizardry game should someone start with? Why is 1-5 so hard to find?

Only masochists want to get into Wizardry. It's a franchise exclusively enjoyed by nostalgiafags who first played it when they were toddlers.

They are literally abandonware. You can find it with a 2 second google search.

Pretty sure this even has a DOS emulator packaged with it.

>mathematician
He relied to his mentor a lot and copied his mathematical work as his own... He is regarded as one of the greatest scientist only because he is jew. You see my point? His theories were not waterproof and the initial approval of the test where they tested if light indeed bends due gravity was in limitations due to mechanical measuring errors. There's lot of bullshit around regarding this man. At some point his reputation was too big and people who argued against him were silenced...

There is a saying that goes "The harder I work, the luckier I get." Wizardry 4 is an exercise in this concept. You will not be able to get through this game by pure chance.
