I honestly prefer a Switch because my life and career requires me to travel so much I can never justify purchasing a console that I'm only going to play like 4 days each month in total. I have a 3DS, and a gaming PC for when I'm home, but sometimes I just want the console experience and a PS4, Xbone, and WiiU aren't really easy to travel with.

Switch and accessories fit in a case about twice the side of my 3DS carrying case, has a decent-ish battery life for moments when I'm not near a wall outlet, and outside of a select few games, I bought all my Switch games digitally so I don't have to juggle carts when I want to back out and play something else. Plus the carts are smaller than the WiiU disks by a wide margin.

Backwards compatibility has never really sold me outside of the PS3 at launch. It serves more as a way to justify upgrading to a new launch console when there isn't much for months. But so far Nintendo seems to have it where they launch a major first party game each month for the rest of the year.

I take it as a portable console to other places. Like get it set up at a friend's place, or my boyfriend's house because he has a guest bedroom with a table in it perfect for the console to sit at.
