Neither is coming back, they'll be dead after a short while because the skill ceiling is too high. There have already been a multitude of arena shooters that end up dead because people don't want to play them, I don't know why they're even making a new Quake

I think it's fair to say that competitive FPS games are dead. Everything has gone to ASSFAGGOTS or fighting games if you want something competitive.

CS:GO is the biggest competitive game out there. I have never, ever seen people watch competitive matches in my life before CS:GO.

Just because you suck dick at the game doesn't mean it's not big, it's THE biggest competitive shooter, almost being THE biggest competitive game- unfortunately gabe funnels all of his money to dota.

the new ut seemed ok but i havent played it in well over a year. its been in "pre-alpha" for like 2 fucking years.

Ive been a casual follower of this type of throw back arena shooters. Games like Toxikk and especially Reflex have been out there for quite sometime now and bares striking resemblance as Quake 3 or UT but theres a problem. There are literally nobody playing these games. Its always just me and my couple of friends just fooling around waiting in vain for players to drop in
