I run a popular cluster pve (island, scorcher, Ragnarok) servers for ark. With quality of life mods and incresded rates. Ark is much more enjoyable now. Official isn't mean as fun and I dno why sngone would want to play there.

The very clear design intention is for dino taming to be progession. you get birds and dilos then use their eggs to make tame stuff up quick and easy.

but most players knock out a big ass dino and see the 5 hour tame time and get a bad taste in their mouth for the game. And its understandable.

"Progression" still sucks horse cock considering it takes hours to set up a liveable and secure wood structure which is just a 3x3 box and then level up enough to make the shit needed to knock things out fast enough. It's like they took the shittiest aspects of these survival sandbox games and cranked up the shit scale some more.

I started a modded 2x rate private server like two weeks ago and no one really joins because everyone gave up on Ark after they implemented the ability to transfer between servers.

So I just play my server with one other friend.

That's why you just go to a community server where taming is 10x faster. Boom, suddenly the game is fun and you can actually see the content.

Like, 12 mods. We have a cluster of just Scorched Earth and Ragnarok right now. We thought about adding more to the cluster if we got more people but obviously that isn't the case.

As for mods specifically, we have Structures +, Pillars+, Classic Flyers, Reusable Plus, Improved Fridge, EggoRaptor, Behemoth Walls, Small Resource Stacks, Tavan's Trough, Stackable Foundations, Platforms Plus and Eco's Terrariums.

Me and another admin are always open to suggestions. Our aim was to create a not-so-grindy feel with mods that add things the Devs should have in the first place.

I don't know, but it could be worse, at least they allow the community to drive the game to a degree and make it good, lots of games that could be truly 10/10's limit themselves by not allowing community driven content.

All I know is on a server where taming and resource gathering is sped up, and S+ and other similar quality of life mods for building are enabled, they're great. Even if you wake up to find you've been raided it's not a big deal since you can just rebuild

if you're going to pay full price for a video game at least buy one that's done.

Because adding stupid dinosaurs and a dlc mal with dragons and crysis suits into the game they felt like it was worth 60 shekels.
