I do agree about the action getting broken up by battle summary and npc calls, but the boss battles, music, and the feeling and fluidity of the combat plus zandatsu, makes it a worthwhile game.

DMC 5 is fucking great, I don't care what any of you nostalgia fags regurgitate. It changed the formula slightly and refreshed the character, and the skill ceiling in that game is through the roof, there's so much variety, there are a shitton of enemies with different strategies needed to defeat them, same with the bosses, gameplay wise, its a fucking masterpiece.

Color coded enemies. It's a contrived way to provide difficulty, instead of just making interesting enemy attacks. It also inhibits player creativity since you can only use two weapons on them.

The vergil fight at the end completely pales in comparison to the end of DMC3. It's not challenging at all, and vergil just kind of slowly walks around the arena, throwing out heavily telegraphed attacks. Plus it forces you to activate devil trigger to finish him off

Devil trigger is dog shit. In the old games, it was treated as another tool in your arsenal. Skilled players jumped in and out of devil trigger, since it would be more advantageous depending on the situation. Plus it did cool stuff like give you infinite trickster dashes, give you a tripple jump, new moves etc. It also had all sorts of cool as fuck designs in the old games. New devil trigger just makes you kinda look like old dante, makes every enemy fly up into the air, and things go into slow motion for a bit. It's treated more as an instant "I WIN!" button than another tool in your arsenal. Lemme just list off some other quick flaws

>it's easy as fuck to stay in the air forever using the grappling hooks, completely removing the practical reason for enemy step.

That's funny, i actually started this game today and had a lot of fun with it, my only problem is the camera weird how you are trying to shit on the game and dont even mention this, feels like you cant get the true potential of you character movements because how shitty it is, but aside from that its been amazing so far.
