PICK ONE
>>
5 hour game with no replayability
>>
I like shmups and arcade style games so right
>>
>>382951458
Whichever one is the better game.
>>
>>382951607
your walking dead, sir
>>
>>382951458
1 50 hour game with no replayability and 9 5-hour games with high replayability.
>>
>>382951696
this.
>>
>>382951458
left.
i rarely replay games.
>>
I've put far more time into Super Metroid than I have most other games.
>>
i will have the gabagool
>>
>>382951458
they're both good and cost the same

i'm going to ejaculate at least ten times either way
>>
Why not both? Yakuza 0 has been out for awhile now
>>
>>382951458
Left. I do not enjoy replaying games

The only genre that should have replayability are Roguelikes and Survivals

Right is literally Ace Combat Zero, so right.

>I don't enjoy replaying games so they shouldn't be replayable unless they're garbage genres
>>
Depends on the genre, 5 hour dungeon crawler, fps (coop w online), kart racing imo is worth the 40-50 bucks.
>>
>>382951458
but I like both.
>>
Right. Outside of a few rpgs, all of the best games can be beaten in around that time anyway.
>>
>>382951616
this
>>
>>382951458
50 hour game hands down.
I like exploring lots of games, so I rarely ever replay them as long as I remember the plot.

And I have a lot of memory.

i choose the 100000000 hour game with ultimate replayability
>>

left
>>
It might seem autistic but I like having all of my accomplishments on one save file.
>>
>>382951458

I'd prefer the right.

I've done Crash Bandicoot 2 100% so many times, it's not funny.
>>
Which one has the better climax? That's the most important part. Does the 50 hour game spend that time setting up incredibly cathartic peaks? Does it give the same sense of odyssey as well, The Odyssey?

Does the 5 hour game keep you white-knuckled all the way through, harder than any game that came before it with a final boss that makes you gasp for breath at the end?

How about a 1 hour game that gets you so worked up you have a heart attack and die? That's the game I want to play.
>>
High replayability obviously

I like the occasional long game, I dumped 80 hours into persona 5, but I can't do that shit on the regular. I genuinely prefer just wasting a week or two playing some 8 hour game a few times and then doing something else than having some long game be a months long comittment.
>>
>>382951458
5 hour game with high replayability.
Proof I am right: Portal and mario kart.
>>
>>382953683
Those are pretty bad examples for your opinion kouhai.
>>
>>382952120
What about it makes it replayable?

Or....
>>
It depends on the mood honestly. If I have a shit ton of free time to spare and I'm willing to do shit that requires more concentration than skills I'd play a 50+ hour game. If I just want to kill time without spending too much time thinking I'd play something short like a platform or a shmup.
>>
>>382953626
>How about a 1 hour game that gets you so worked up you have a heart attack and die? That's the game I want to play.
Play arcade games then. Knowing that if you mess up you'll have to try again for potentially dozens of hours makes the final parts stressful as hell.

I still do that to this day, but portal is pure shit, custom maps or not
>>
>>382951458
Quality otherwise equal, in most cases the 50 hour game. There are few short games with replayability that I will put 50 hours in but I'll probably stick through the 50 hour game for the single play-through.
>>
>>382955004
Minigames out the ass
>>
>>382951458
What game(s) fit this model? I've only ever played short games where almost every single thing is accomplishable on the first run and not much that can be changed mechanically where longer games usually have different classes and more options
>>
>>382951458
Second one. That's basically Bioshock for me. Played through that game so many damn times
>>
>>382957224
>boredom
i don't agree! fake news!!!
>>
It's extremely rare that I play through a game more than once, so replayability means very little to me. I finish a game and move on to the next.
>>
>>382957724
Basically left is jrpgs and right is wrpgs.

Both are honestly good though, it just depends on the person. Sometimes I could use something time consuming, and other times I may want to revisit something I'm familar with and try a different a route.

I prefer compact experiences and tinkering around with fun mechanics, so 5 hour game with high replayability.
>>
>>382951458
Depends on what kind of games they are.
>>
>>382958096
What RPGs are you playing that only takes 5 hours?
>>
>>382958489
You can beat Fallout 1 with most of the quests done in an afternoon.

Chrono Trigger is also pretty short and sweet. Possibly Diablo 1's single player campaign, though that's a stretch.
>>
>>382958635
>all 20+ year old games
I'll give you Fallout if you blaze through it, it's been a while but Chrono felt long-ish, and I've never played Diablo 1.
>>
>>382959154
No way you can beat Diablo I under 5 hours unless you have beaten it before or you are a no fun speedrunner.
>>
>>382958489
>>382959154
I said basically, 5 hours is obviously extreme though.

Also as someone who literally just beat chrono trigger yesterday it is pretty short, game is only 20 hours longs including the side stuff. The ds version adds some bonus stuff though.
>>
>>382958370
This is the only right answer.
>>
5 hour one because then I can just keep replaying it until I get bored, with the 50 hour one I'll either get bored before the finish or still want to play it after running out of content

I choose 1 hour game with infinite replayability
>>
>>382951458
Second one.

I would much rather play Shovel Knight than AssAssIn creed 2
>>
"Replayability" is vague as fuck. Does it refer to content and difficulty modes? Does it refer to deep mechanics? Challenge? Dynamic AI? Just how good something feels to play? Does a scoring system mean infinite replayability? How do speedruns and challenge runs fit in? "Replayability" basically just means that you like the game nowadays desu.
