Well /V my PSU burned out and it's time to replace it. I was wondering what upgrades I should make to my PC, along with a PSU that won't die after 2 1/2 years of use! https://pcpartpicker.com/list/FwRKnQ

What did you have before and how long did it last?

My PSU blew out yesterday. Got drunbk with the lads and was being a dumbshit having my tower on the floor which is carpet. Replacement is on its way. Good news is, i was completely fucked up so i just laughed as i watched my psu go POP with sparks. Then before i went to bed it hit me like a fucking truck. My computer just blew up...
My PSU burned out too. I don't knwo if the rest of my PC is ok, i don't currently have a iob so im out of a PC for some time while i find a job to afford new PC parts.

rarely ever does psu blowout damage other components unless your entire pc catches fire.

Btw it just stopped working, no smoke, no smell it just wouldn't turn on. I did the paperclip test and it wouldn't turn on.

Also check the capacitors on your motherboard. If nothing is ruptured or leacking you are good to go. Just buy a PSU, install it and call it a day. I recommend a EVGA 500W

You people need to buy PSUs that can handle multiple harddrives and graphics cards. Units don't just die regularly.

Check my list, had it for 2 1/2 years

Seconding the EVGA, 500+ watts, at least Bronze rated, and modular.
I've had a 600w Corsair for about 8 years, good but wish it was modular. Lotsa cables.
silverstone, seasonic or corsair hx
