It's extremely vanilla. You'll be playing it more for the waifus and the humor(if you like it) than anything else. Also note after you get into it a ways, notice how not just the enemies, but maps and basically every other asset are reused over and over? Every game in the series is like that, and later games recycle shit from earlier ones. So basically, unless you just absolutely can't get enough Neps, there's no reason to play more than one of them. That one is fun enough for the time you'll spend on it, though.

I uninstalled it after the Nep and Uzume prologue. It might be the best game in the series, but after Re;Birth 1, 2 and 3 I'm just sick of this combat system.

I never understood the battle system complaint. For some reason it's the "generic" battle system, when something like Persona 5 is even more generic than Neptunia's, but never gets that complaint.

Four characters, with one enemy left. Due to the fact that melee is the default action, three of the characters spent their energy just moving closer to the enemy. Next turn, one character makes it close, but their attack range is off by about three inches. So you have to wait for yet another turn.

I literally could not stop yawning while playing this. This has to be the first game in history that i actually had to force myself to beat just so that i could see it through. I like to beat games that i play, but this is definitely the first game i've regrettably beaten.

Atleast i pirated it.

You're playing the non-NISA versions. Those originally had DLC weapons that were better than anything you could find in endgame (because there wasn't any endgame weapons).

I didn't expect much and I managed to enjoy the characters and the setting. Sure there was cringe galore but it definitely grew on me.
I heard some of the English voice acting and I probably wouldn't have been able to play through the game. If I could understand Japanese I probably couldn't have played through the game either.

If you want a generic and boring battle system, try playing Trails games. Those are generic and boring.

Neptunia VII is much better than that. And yes placement matters, you do more damage hitting from behind, not to mention being grouped up isn't always the best since bosses can have area attacks.
