>There will never be a LOTR RPG with the size and scale of BOTW
White Council never ever
Who is the Tom Bombadil of video games?
>>382927932
Considering how large and profitable the IP is I wouldn't be surprised actually.I just hope it's nothing like BotW
>>382928121
Gaunter O'Dimm
>>382927932
>bitch doesn't appreciate Lord of the Rings: Online
Well, it's your loss.
>>382928327
I do anon. I just can't sit at my computer for extended periods of time, I need to hook it up to my TV so I can sit back with it.
>Ride from Edoras to Minas Tirith in 3 minutes
What a sense of scale.
>>382928121
Strange man in RDR
>>382928510
>Scale of just cause 2
Is that better?
>>382928470
Fair enough.Hope you're in Laurelin?
>>382928762
I'm inBree, comfy as fuck
When's the graphics update?
>>382928743
No. If you're going to use an established world, you make it to scale or as close as possible, or you don't make it at all.
>>382927932
I want to see an open word Beleriand, anon.
>>382929036
>3-4 day walk just to get from one end of the shire to the other
Unless you want procedural generated shit you'll never get that.
>>382929454
It doesn't have to look good or even interesting. I mean hell, if there was anything neat in between the landmarks of Middle-Earth, the landmarks wouldn't be landmarks. That being said, Middle-Earth is better left to the bindings of the book.
Show me the difference between No Man's Sky and everything in between Breath of the Wild's domains. Procedural or "Hand-Crafted", it all looks the fuckin' same. Although I suppose if there was an adaption of Middle-Earth, you'd at least get some decent architecture and cities to explore, unlike the shit in BotW.
>>382927932
good
I prefer it when people don't make games out of lotr, unless it's very distant an non intrusive like Risk or a broodwar map about the war of the ring
I hope Shadow of Whatever stays around for a while and keeps adding RPG elements with each game.
>>382928327
lotro was awesome but it's really showing its age
the engine is clunky af and i've always disliked the slow combat
the game world and quests are 10/10
>of botw
So you want a LOTR game thats a mile wide and puddle deep?
>>382932018
>le hasn't played the game may may
you could fit all 3 PS2 GTA games' maps in the BotW's map, and you'd still have tons of extra room to spend.
>>382932361
Yep miles wide with nothing to do. Hows all four and a half of those dungeons treating you?
>>382927932
If shadow of mordor dropped the assassins creed shit and focused on its world a little more I think it could happen. We can only pray.
>>382932738
>warner bros
>doing something half original
>entrusting to fan fiction devs too
Boy I can't wait
>>382933175
Its got potential at least.
>>382932581
>Yep miles wide with nothing to do.
I should make a Bingo board out of these. This is getting hilarious.
>Hows all four and a half of those dungeons treating you?
Fine thank you. Took me 60h to even go into single one of them. Got all of them finished at around 120h mark, and there's still tons of places I've yet to visit.
>>382933274
It does have potential you're right, but I wouldn't entrust it to Nu-Monolith.
>Save Tom Bombadill or let him die?
>Convince the townsfolk that the orc is friendly and wants to live with them
>Forge your own rings dragonborn tier main quest
>Mirkwood is a flat plane with 50 trees and thick fog
>Quipping dwarfs and Uruks
I can see it getting GOTY from normies though
>>382933302
>still tons of places I've yet to visit
This
The map doesn't even need to be fuck huge. As long as you pack it full of content in each area and actually present some resemblance of a challenge to traverse the terrain it's fine, that's plenty of content there. But ADHD ridden normies need special powers and the ability to zip around the map at the speed of light yet still love it when the map is bigger for no reason.
