World is unmatched and the no fast travel "gimmick" makes it so much fun.

Everything else can be discussed, but games made around no fast travel are so much better, they feel like a real adventure with limited resources and where you don't know when the next "safe spot" will be. Imagine the new Zelda being done like that, horses will be actually useful and the rest spots will be so much fun to discover and so valuable.

Are there similar games to what Dark Souls do to the world? Apart from Morrowind.

things actually take stamina and time to do. Bloodborne is fast as fuck and fun but there are definitely so much better feelings about fighting in DS1

Also I love how in DS parrying and reposting is done with your weapon so you can stab them or smack them instead of in bloodborne where you just reach into their chest and pull out their guts

new londo loops into valley of drakes, blighttown, firelink shrine
the catacombs are cool
seaths area and the dukes archives suck I'll admit that

there are many problems with the second half of the game, but the map is still not one of them
