Terribly unoptimized. Also they've said they are developing and playing on the stable SSE version. The LE edition bruma is buggy and doesn't fucking work because the idiots refused to put loading screens in their cities. Are they going to fix it because LE doesn't work with no loading screens and is prone to crashes?

This happens because there are at least 4 nested iteration loops the game does in every frame and the lowest loop iterates for each plugin installed, normally this wouldn't be an issue but this code runs on multiple threads and for each plugin it locks a mutex every time, this is very slow. It's not even really a bug, just bad implementation.

There is literally no fucking reason at all to use SSE. None.. Not fucking one. It used to be rain occlusion but Real Shelter fucking does that for Oldrim.

SKSE is primarily for SkyUI which is annoying to do without but all the mods ported to SE that previously relied on the MCM use the vanilla messagebox system so they are still perfectly playable, I will take that and SE's much improved performance and vanilla graphics over original any day

Performance is better because a developer other than Shithesda made the Special Edition and actually bothered to optimize it, something Todd Howard fears and despises. You can install a lot more graphics mods on SE than original and still maintain 60 FPS while having native ambient occlusion, DX11 shadows, and a much higher grass density.
