I'm playing through Metal Gear Rising for the first time and it's been very good so far. Just saw Raiden awakening Jack and man, that was a cheesy scene that came straight out of a anime but I loved it so much.

In most MGS titles you get way too close to death a few times, in MGS5 it only happens during the hospital prologue and maybe the second chapter I don't know I didn't play it since I got bored, only played up until Skullface's death.

There was no scene where Snake is captured and tortured like most other games. Would it have really taken so long to make a short level where he is surrounded, tortured by Skullface, escapes the prison and has to gun down a bunch of people then Pequod comes to save him?

The closest the game comes close to peril is the Man on Fire mission which, while it was a really good fight, never felt anywhere near as thrilling as for instance the motorcycle chase in MGS3.
