it's like with everything in life, more you need to work for it, better you get in it. Since budget, parts avaliablity and access to software are limited, you need to have at least some basic know-how. And if you have it, you'll gradually lose interest in closed platforms.
also we do play consoles, but their almost always second hand imports. Local bar has PS2 plugged permanenly to TV, and there's almost always someone playing Black or Need for Speed on it, someitmes with 5-10 people, beers in hand, watching and commenting. Cozy sight to be honest.
