They did the same shit for Radiant Historia 3DS enhanced port, and to rub in more salt in the wound, they have original portraits as DLC.
120$ DLC in Super Premium Limited Pre-Order Only Collector's Edition Only in Japan.
As in, the DLC for original portraits only comes with JPN Collector's Edition which was pre-order only because it sold out within hours of going up.

The only human character done by Doi is the Not-Yukiko and even then not in this >>382907450 artwork which is made by the same guy doing the regular character portraits.
Pic related is Doi's artwork of Not-Yukiko and it's completely soft-shaded as you can see.

Besides Doi is literally Kaneko's apprentice, he was being groomed into becoming Kaneko's replacement for years.

I love SJ, but I can't see myself buying DSJ, at least not for a while. The new art isn't great and the game was already fine as it was. The only thing they could really add that would pique my interest is map making so that the teleporter mazes are less of a pain. At least Maria is back and Amon looks cool, if nothing else.

What are the odds that this new girl's route/ending will completely overshadow the original ones?

How did this turn out? I haven't seen any import impressions yet. The original RH's narrative was pretty tight, and I worried since the announcement of this that the new content wouldn't really add anything of importance, or worse, detract from the mood and feel of the story.

It's literally a completely new separate story-within-a-story. If you ever played the new scenario in DeSu 2 Break Record, it's basically like that.

Also there's like 10 new characters and all of them have only the new-style portraits. As in, they didn't make classic-style portraits for them so if you're using classic portraits DLC, the new characters clash horribly.

All SMT games have multiple routes so you might as well just finish it on the route you're on and then do all the other routes in the remaster.
It's not a remake tho, just an enhanced port with some new content and updated portraits and UI.
