I've tried playing this a few times before and didn't really get into it.
I've played with both gamepad and KBM for about 3 or 4 matches and didn't really enjoy myself.

You see, I can see why someone who played it for a few hours and maybe went through a few unranked matches might say that. It's enough time to pick up the basics and you'll find yourself being able to play around somewhat competently with other noobs. But a bit later you'll find someone who can rape you hard, then realize that there are other people on the next level of comprehension of the game who could rape him. You'll quickly come to realize just how many details there are to learn and optimize and how you'll come to put them all together over time.

Once you figure out flying, it's a whole new game.

Ranked means in general that you'll be pit against another team who's honestly trying to beat you who are ideally around your skill level. You'd not going to get many intense matches on casual play unless you know the people playing against you.

3400 hours reporting in. I play this game every day. And have been playing for 2 years. This is my most played game of all time and I honestly wouldn't go back and trade any of my play time. There's almost no way that you'd dedicate yourself to play as much as I have, but there is a lot of fun to be had nonetheless.

Getting good at it is different, but there's an extremely high bar set for what is considered competent at the game and absolute jack shit to teach about it.

Usually when you jump you have 1.5 seconds to do another flip, but if you fall off the ceiling there is no time limit and if you land your wheels on the ball in the air you can get another flip. It's incredibly difficult, that webm is a pro player.
