if anyone is interested, its a rougelike where you keep walking right as you explore, recruit party members, enter dungeons, and get tons of different endings
apparently they added an option to nerf traps to make long runs less rng bullshit, but i think the fps is locked at 30 and the resolution options are a bit fucked but maybe they fixed that too

oh but the original + dlc is like 5 bucks
graphics and art are less polished but it has very different/more content than mystery chronicles and also runs at 60fps

if you ever read that book hatchet as a teenager, it's like that book made into a game (or really, brian's winter made into a game if brian's winter had towns and everyone was dead in it).

it's a fantastic game. trying to find/create shelter, make a fire, make sure you don't starve to death or be dehydrated to death, the list goes on. the best moments in that game happen when you get forced into doing risky shit because the alternative is dying.

that being said, i think there's still no story mode so what ended up happening for me is that i started the game, got set up in one area and cleaned it out of resources, then packed up my little camp and set out for the next area and then stopped because i would just be doing the same thing from area to area. definitely worth $14 though for sure.

zombie survival games are for school shooters to live out their fantasy world in. I think it's a pretty good game, have something like 200 hours in it. It's got a decently steep learning curve but once you get the hang of it and you learn how to exploit the AI then it will seem less like RNG is screwing you. It's pretty buggy for some people and "action" gameplay - shooting and stealth, is very stiff.
However the roleplaying element is great, dialogue system is really good and your choices actually matter. If you can tolerate the action gameplay (look for gameplay videos) then you'll probably enjoy the game. It's basically a "Mass Effect" about James Bond. And it's made by Obisidan.

If you want to get into Total War, get the game with the setting you like the most. Shogun 2, Warhammer and Attila are all safe bets. If you dislike DLC jewery and dont mind the older graphics, Rome Total war (the first) and medieval 2 (check PCgamingwiki for issues) are great
