Nothing currently. I was going to start DQVII, but I don't know what's with my O3DS that the screens feel so small and the controls feel so tiring. It's really not comfortable and I owned this thing since 5 days before it came out on Europe, so it's ancient. And I can't sell it proper because it has those 2 fucking marks on the top screen that the bezel at the bottom screen causes and I never found out how to remove that.

Oh and also because I'm waiting til I can buy maybe a 2DS XL or a N3DS XL, I don't know which. Then I'll probably play something.

You're more on point with the Harvest Moon and Zelda then ever FF12 or KH.
There's resource gathering and making use of for the town that then nets you money.
And the combat with it's lock on and side stepping is very Zelda 64 in nature, just with a faux type system in place that you really only need to worry about if bringing a sand person along.

On that note:

>The gear you get for seedlings highly outpace the rate EXP is earned, making seedlings far better by mid/end game

I felt really sad my Drake army became so fucking useless outside of expedition spamming, because any stall user could easily out DPS them with +50 attack gear and not die with +20 def equips that also halfed damage just because.

I asked this before and got no replies. Anyone else thinks Ever Oasis is running on the same engine as OoT 3D? It uses the same dungeon stylization with chokepoints for loading zones, wome UI elements are almost identical, and the bottom screen behaves just like in OoT as well

I can bend my 3DS around a ton and that stable 3D works 100% in ensuring it doesn't feel off. Even really low angles it'll work like a charm so I'd toss a suggestion on updating if you can find one on sale anytime soon. Though outside of the game loading ordeal, and a few older games seeing a FPS boost, your mileage might vary.

LttP is my favorite Zelda game to this day. I couldn't bring myself to finish LBW. I got to the last dungeon (I think) at the top of Death Mountain. I got all the items, and upgraded all the items, and beat the challenge tower without even trying. I was really bored with it.

It just made me realize that as much as I love LttP, I really didn't want a sequel.

I have an O3DS and I don't like 3D much. I think it's impressive on games like OOT3D but after a while I just find it not too comfortable and everything looks too jaggy. But I never tried it on a N3DS XL, maybe that's the issue since part of the problem is not being able to move around much.

I'm concerned about the 2DS XL just coming out and suddenly it can't be moddable because I'll admit, I like being able to mod it.

I think it's a perfect pick up and play in short bursts kinda game. The stages are small and tight and incredible well designed. I enjoyed trying to speedrun through them all and beat the times of people I Streetpassed. It's just one of those games I could play forever.

How do I get into this game? Should I pick a non-combat life(if thats even a thing)?

I tried playing it and besides a literal 30 minute handheld guide for pressing A and B the only thing they had me do was attack some thieves, and the combat is literally atrocious. Like phone game territory.

Also if anyone has recommendations that would be cool. I am looking for something comfy that has an enticing grind, or honestly anything with solid gameplay. Hidden gems are welcome too.

heavens no. it's justsimplistic combat repeated ad nauseum over a plot you already know 100% by the time you're halfway into the game's first quarter. Really, pic related is everything I see when I hear others singing praises of this game but then again that's just me and my shit taste speaking. As for XC 3D it's a surprisingly sturdy port and I'm impressed they managed to squeeze the whole damn thing on a 3DS, being up there in console-grade fidelity with RE revelations and MGS3D, if the latter had N3DS hardware to run on when it was being developed. The textures do get a tad crunchy however, so an XL screen is not as optimal for it as a smaller one might hide the lack of details better

RiverCity Tokyo Rumble will cover your beat 'em up needs, but the sprites' scaling might look weird
Drancia Saga is bloody impossible to find outside of japland, but if you somehow snag yourself a CIA of it go for it. Mobile game ported to 3DS, and the controls are infinitely better on it
Shift DX is a port of the Shift quadrilogy of flash puzzle platformers. The game is pretty okay, but I probably only like it due to nostalgia
Gurumin 3D is a quite interesting third person action-platformer-rpg-thing with a honestly bizarre presentation and inteesting tone
Blaster Master Zero is arguably not a "hidden" gem, but it's quite a gem nonetheless

I knew way more, but it's 5 AM and my brain is yelling at me to go the fuck to sleep. If you wanna get messy with homebrew look up the ports of Quake and Duke Nukem 3D which are amazingly smooth and play like pure sex if you have a PSP nub for a stick on a N3DS. Hexen 2 works great too

Unfortunately nintendo's VC is good enough to pass off as the real deal for many games, so romhacks that use emulation-exclusive quirks might not work like the 90 degrees super metroid flip romhack. Does it work on every game? There are some titles that run terribly or with some hitching. Also, does it just waste more battery life or is it really dangerous for the console? I didn't try with SNES but for GBA for instance there's a tool that pretty much does it all for you on gbatemp. So you can put your own banners and on GBA there's this fucking tendency to put some motion blur on VC ROMs, so there's a way to disable that too, and fix the oversaturated colors as well.

Until I recently, the only main seried DQ I had played was IX and it was awesome, with all the side quests and différent classes, the fact that you create your own team, etc.
A week ago I started playing VII. Son far I've completed 2 islands and played ~5h.
God it was lame. Si far the whole game is "go here. Talk to this Guy. Here you have the impression that you have to understand, but really the world is small so the answer is obvious"
Also the figh system is sluggish and was better in DQM which is starting to get old by now.
I don't know if I'll continue it, I'm gonna start VIII in the meantime.

I ordered Wario Ware Touched, DQ VIII, and some Wizard of Oz rpg I thought looked cool. Been playing SMTIV and I want to try neutral route because I don't know if I'm going to play it three times.

I can see why this game can be a hit or a miss for people. The beginning can be a bit of a slog, especially with its lack of an objective. But even then I was still drawn to the exploration aspect. Now they got that bit down right I'll tell you. After a villager or two most of the things in game pretty much runs it self so you can focus back on exploration and jewing the shit outta from the little fat birds.

I too enjoy the simplicity of a game boy any day but I honestly don't see the problem in the points you have listed out.

The 2nd screen pretty much only serves as a side menu for most games. At the same time most games doesn't even make you juggle between your buttons and your stylus. Either you use the stylus alone or the buttons. Hell they haven't even done gimmicky games involving screens or using dual controls like that ever since the early-mid days of the DS. The battery life I'll admit varies from people to people for some reason but I can leave my N3DS on sleep mode for like two days and still have it retain 80% of its charge.

The story's somewhat standard humans vs nonhumans shit following a resistance movement based in guilds, and you basically get a huge ship and recruit civilians from around the world to join your guild (and your crew by default, because the guild base towers are on your ship)
