Today's the last day she's on sale!
I don't own a PS4. Sorry, cute robutt girl.
They put 0 effort into the PC port, just pirate it.
CAUSE WE'RE GONNA SHOUT IT LOUD

>>382870206
Goddammit, posted early.
Anyway, can I run it? CPU is 3.0ghz
>>382867445
>>382867439
I literally didn't have ANY problems with the PC version. I run a 660 and i have a decent framerate (40-60) in most of the game. Only causes where it dropped was at the end stages of the game where the battles were intense and had a lot of things going on.
I seriously start to think that people who complain about PC port didn't even play the game and just repeat shitposting from others.
>>382867142
I'm waiting until it comes down to 20$. I have already beaten it on ps4 anyway.
>>382870369

On the start of route C now.Why is 9S and 2A immune to the logic virus but everyone from Yorha are infected? Are 6O and 21O dead as well ;-;?
>>382872676
Keep playing, i think they explain it soon.
>>382872676
9S and 2B are fine because 9S didn't connect their data to the Bunker near the end of A/B. You'll learn about the Operators later
>>382872676They are not immune, just keep playing man.
stupid fucking robot cunt
Is there any confirmation on where is it set? Because the data archives suggest that it takes place in Japan but then when we get a view from space it shows the sun shining on America which means it can't be in Japan.
>>382867142
That sale is a pathetic. This game is cheaper on consoles than it is in PCs even with a sale.
Why is Niers game so expensive?
>$42
Still way too high.
>>382872676
They are not immune. They just didn't got the. If you remember, when 9S was hacking into YorHa servers, he stumbled upon a weird sound and disconnected 2B and himself from the updates.

I would say I doubt it, but Taro was asked to do a stageplay for Taiwan centered around Automata and it's going to have new content, so there's hope yet for some DLC they're withholding.

>>382878321
>Game peaked completely in the amusement park
I will never understand the opinion that Automata peaked in the Amusement Park when the Tower exists.
>>382878686
The tower was boring as fuck and didn't have anything interesting gameplay wise
I didn't care for the story at all either so the tower lost all significance to me.
The park has the best boss fight in the game, great ambient music and actual level design, even if it is pathetically short
For once /v/ didn't lie to me. That was fucking great. The very beginning had me going in a little iffy since I was expecting a third-person slash 'em up and instead got a arcade shooter, but then it just worked.
>>382878321
>Game peaked completely in the amusement park
It's tentatively my favorite part of the game, yeah. The weirdness of it all, the one robot on break, and the Boss fight with Beauvoir was fucking amazing in every way. Absolutely the best encounter in the game and Route B actually brought more to it.
>>382877206
stage plays based on vidya are pretty common

>Automata has almost sold half a million copies on Steam.
Literally outsold RE7 on PC, which sold 3.5 million overall. Not even hating on the game but how the fuck did this happen? This game was made in like less than 2 years and barely qualifies as an AAA game. Yet it still cracked the mainstream.
Was it just the perfect storm of 2B's butt and Platinum's/Yoko Taro's cult following?
>>382885771

The fact that you basically fight Square Enix as the final boss in a simple STG is about on the same level as the final boss of Drakengard 3.

It asks you if you think that what you did up until this point was meaningless, if you think games are just a waste of time.
Sure it's a little pretentious, but Yoko Taro can get away with it, because actually does have enough substance in his writing to do the "games are art" spiel.
I'm not even reading posts, I'm just grabbing images because I'm still at route C and don't need to be spoilered.

Fucking ending E, it was satisfying but now there's a big empty hole. Also those fucking troll elevators, I was waiting the entire game to find out what was on the other side.
Also what the shit could they do for DLC? I think the majority of people made the ultimate sacrifice at the end, so it'd have to be some kind of prologue thing.
>>382888145
This post is a demonstration of autism.

>>382887859
>While posing it as an allegory to life in general.
Sure, if you choose to interpret it as such. That does works very well.
But my preferred interpretation is that it's just Taro asking you if you enjoyed playing his game and if you will actually see it through up until the end.
At any rate it's not something incredibly complicated or new, it's just executed well.
>Kingdom hearts delivered the same message over a decade ago, but nobody ever thought it was art.
Who did it first isn't really a category here, these ideas aren't exactly something new.
>>382888256

>>382888453
>Sure, if you choose to interpret it as such
There's very little choice in the matter, when the game forces the answers down your throat every step of the way. "The endlessly repeating cycle, where nothing you do matters because death is inevitable", etc.
>these ideas aren't exactly something new.
Exactly, which is why I don't get why some people pretend this case is somehow exceptional
>>382888763

>>382867142

>>382888913
But that's the thing, what makes it different? The story is nothing groundbreaking, as said. The gameplay and visuals are standard by the numbers Platinum. So what then? I legitimately don't get it
>>382888763
>Exactly, which is why I don't get why some people pretend this case is somehow exceptional
Again, with such things, execution is important.
It directly confronts YOU, the player with these ideas. It doesn't just depict the ideas, but it forces you to consider them, because it constantly asks you about them.
There's this one prompt that comes up after you die a few times, it's something like "games are silly little things". And I think that's really nice, because you say "yes" it obviously throws you out, as if to tell you "what are you even doing here?". How you keep affirming feels really nice, at least for me, these constant questions gave the will to keep trying.
You really have to play it yourself to fully appreciate it, it's another affirmation of Taro's belief in games as a medium.
>>382889320
We're talking about the Ending E sequence right now, don't move the goalposts.
>>382867445
I thought about buying it but continued playing my pirate copy because it came with the cosmetic dlc + valve accessory haha. If they made that available to buy later down the road, I'd get the steam version.
>>382871069
Is it worth $42 if I only play through games once, or twice at most?
>>382890484
"multiple playthroughs" aren't multiple playthroughs as much as they are times you load your safe file after the credits roll.
>>382890484
You play the first segment twice, as two different characters with different playstyles, followed by the final third which is completely new where you get to play as another character.
I got about 65 hours out of the game.
>>382889569
>And I think that's really nice, because you say "yes" it obviously throws you out
You have some fucked up ideas about nice. Whatever I felt about the questions myself, I could obviously only select what the game wanted me to say out of the fear of getting a game over and being forced to redo the whole shit. If anything, it emotionally detached me from the whole situation.
>We're talking about the Ending E sequence right now, don't move the goalposts.
If you're not the poster talking about Persona 5, then I wasn't even replying to you.
>>382883915
No retard, the reason people pirate in the first place IS the fact they half assed the port.
PC playerbase is actually conscious consumers - if they feel they're being shat on by companies, they'll shit back on them.
Pcbros notwithstanding.
>>382867445
this
>>382890965
>If you're not the poster talking about Persona 5, then I wasn't even replying to you.
The Persona 5 was still brought in reference to the ending sequence.
>You have some fucked up ideas about nice.
It's as if the game tells you "why are you even at this point if you don't like games? this here is not for you". This is a wonderful touch because it makes you say that you want this.
>I could obviously only select what the game wanted me to say out of the fear of getting a game over
Sure, but if you've seen the screen many times it turns into the game putting these exact thoughts into your head, if that makes sense? It's no longer a question, but you affirming that you genuinely and sincerely believe what the prompt says in the moment.
It's hard to explain, after all it's how I felt about it clearing it without accepting help.
