It was fun when it came out, but once New Vegas is out it became more apparent how bad 3 is story wise compared to NV.

I loved fallout 3 too, and I liked New Vegas because it was more or less a polished game-sized dlc for 3 with a few qol changes and a better story. I didn't like 4 very much. I'm not sure why you think disliking 4 is contrarian, most of my normie friends think 3>NV>4.

I liked it before I played New Vegas, I could probably even go back and get invested enough to finish the main quest but I don't believe it does anything as good, or better than New Vegas. The singular thing I hate most is the RNG nature of skill checks in 3, you can either savescum a 1% chance for eternity or fail a 90% skill check despite having 100 in that skill. I prefer the way its handled in NV, if you meet the requirements you pass if you don't you fail. Not sure why they needed to have RNG in 3, and why did they hate looped reload animations and iron sights?

I played the DLC on PC and played through all the vanilla stuff on console. Together my hours probably equal out to new vegas on 2 playthroughs and I haven't done mods mostly achievements/challenges in NV. Anyone else give both games about equal time?

I enjoyed the crap out of exploring in Fallout 3 and DC was a great setting. I just couldn't stand all the Bethesda Jewing of 5 voice actors, zero quality assurance, graphics that were dated on release, plot written by a retarded child or numale, and all the other shortcomings. Oh yeah, and everything being brown or gray really sucked because getting spotted by an enemy from a mile away who can run at the speed of sound while you can't even see the fuck is pretty shitty.

Definitely not a game I'd care to revisit though. I don't think I'll ever reinstall 3 or New Vegas. Maybe 4 with mods to make it more fun.
