Can't overclock that i5 and that PSU won't be able to handle a more power hungry graphics card; the 1050 draws all its power from the PCIe port

It's 5 year old hardware, but desktop PCs have stagnated

It's not very good (probably as powerful as a PS4 graphics wise and weaker CPU-wise), and you basically have zero room for upgrading

That sounds like you were overpaying. 680 was possibly the top card on the market at that point (so conceivably $700), but the rest shouldnt be more than another $600 for mobo/CPU/PSU/RAM/HDD. Did you get an SSD? They were probably 10x more expensive then than they are now.

A lot of those tiny pre-builts like OP have special cooling systems that make it difficult or impossible to switch out a GPU or PSU. And either way it's still a waste of money.

The point of the 1050 is that it's the best card in the world that can be dropped in any shitty office prebuild that doesn't have power supply pinouts because it's under 75 watts
>>
>>382844298
>Then in a few months when the bubble has burst and stock has returned to normal you will be kicking yourself.
No, because you will still have a decent PC with a high end GPU which you probably couldn't have afforded otherwise thanks to flipping the mid-ranged card to retarded miners.
>A lot of those tiny pre-builts like OP have special cooling systems that make it difficult or impossible to switch out a GPU or PSU.
Only the really tiny form factor ones use anything special these days, no clue about OP's prebuilt in particular but it doesn't look like one that would use a special snowflake MXM GPU or a proprietary PSU.
>>
>>382843656

PSUs are pretty cheap. I got a 750w unit for about $70 back in 2010 and it's lasted me through multiple builds. $70 is only expensive if you're going for a hobobuild.
>>
>>382841731
It's better to check if that hp has 1x4gb ram or 2x2gb ram sticks. It's not efficient to pair 1 4gb stick with 2 2gb ones. You either go 2x4gb or 4x2gb. Otherwise, that's a good sub-200 budget build
>>
>>382844298
You can't remove the GPU out of the PC so there's that
>>
>>382845024

A lot of people are really paranoid about PSUs exploding and taking the rest of their hardware with them.

In using 8gb ddr3 1866 for years and not had one issue. Most I've seen games use alone is like 4gb~ for bf1.

If you are building a pc now though yeah 16gb is the obvious choice

Are you living in the 90s? Back then a 2 year old computer would have been completely useless. Today I'm gaming on an 8 year old PC like it's nothing

Try this: http://www.microcenter.com/product/475437/g314_desktop_computer

It's Microcenter's own brand of prebuilt. and it's $200 less

i5 7600k
GTX 1070
16GB DDR4-3200 RAM

Well when I turned it off and unplug it like a month ago when I researched it on Toms Hardware. Just want to make sure its the PSU before I bother doing anything with it, I was hitting 80c on my GPU and 60C on my CPU when I was gaming before it would randomly shut off.

Eh, I get what he's getting at in that optimization is nonexistent.

Like 10 years ago you could run Crysis on a Core 2 Duo/GeForce 8800 rig but now there are new games that are uglier than Crisis and stutter on a computer 10 times as powerful

Also Minecraft is the worst coded game I've ever seen in my life, it has stutters and frame drops on every computer ever made while having the graphics of a 486 or PS1 game
>>
>>382848029
No they're not. CPUs have been stagnant for 7~ years and the market has only just changed with ryzen. we've been getting the same quad cores with 2-5% performance increase for almost a decade.

GPUs are still moving up in power but not nearly as much as before, mid range has been stagnant for 3~ years since the 970/290. Today you can get the 1060 or 580 for the same price with what 10% more performance? since nvidia jacked up all price segments by $100+

wow, 4 days

A little hack to get rid of a warning message isn't going to change the fact that you'll never get updates and your system will run worse than with a modern OS

I used to have an old shittop with Intel Graphics 4500

The first time I played TF2 on it, it ran at 1280x800 medium detail and rarely dropped below 40FPS

The last time I played TF2 on it, it was a sub-10FPS slideshow on 640x480 all minimum detail

I know it's a shit computer but it's the same fucking game, what the fuck did they do to it
>>
>>382848794
they added 10000000 hats

also last i heard they downgraded the graphics like a week ago on tf2

That's actually a pretty solid prebuilt.
If you had to buy a prebuilt, this would be the one. Buttfuck it's still 1000$

bottleneck in some games senpai. I have experience with a 4690k + 980ti, on 120/144hz you will get 100% cpu usage in alot of 2016/17 games

i5 is just really stupid now anyway with 6c/12t ryzen at the same price and 6c i5s around the corner with coffeelake

What would it cost to build this yourself? Seems like a decent deal considering the 1070 is like $600 on Amazon.

Absolutely not. But it's better than Dell/Alienware.

The hard drive is in a really shitty spot with no air flow. I've repaired the previous model more times than I can count. For what? Bad hard drive. Damn thing is getting cooked inside it.

I went to a local Fry's to see it with my own eyes. The best AMD card they had was a 250. The rest of the shelf was empty. When is this bullshit going to end?

What is the best Console for someone who hates and rejects all indie (independent) games and just play and only likes AAA video games?
>>
god no. my roommate has one of these. It is just a laptop with no attached screen and the air flow sucks. He has had so many issues with it.
>>
>>382844151
Really? Is this the power of the americlaps? Just go to any swedish site and order one, they still cost 230 bucks here
>>
>>382857759
I've heard the mining bubble hasn't impacted European prices, no clue why. Even if mining wasn't a think in Europe, you would think the miners elsewhere would be importing European cards.
>>
>>382841283
Depends on your expectations OP, the case looks custom, not particularly familiar with it but at least nice value. Keep in mine a nice case is 100-150 and you can't buy that specific case retail.

A 1060 isnt bad by any stretch of the imagination but it isn't a 1070 because the i7 and custom case+16gb ram.

If you were to find a custom i5 you may get a 1070, if you build your own you probably could swing an i5+1070 in a case you like for 1100, GPUs are expensive now though.

You'll want an SSD ontop

Also don't expect to Max late 2016-2016 AAA games as a part of the "PC gaming experience" you will still have strong gaming performance though.
>>

why would you do that

not him but im "poor"
i5 6600k isnt bad right?
right?
>>
Crysis was the last game that wow'd me in graphics and actually forced me to upgrade my system

Since then it's been stagnant and not sure there will be another major leap in graphics again like that
>>
>>382858582

Because i7 is enormously more expensive for very little practical advantage.
>>
>>382858582
>>build your own
Didn't say he had to, mentioned if OP searched he could find a custom build with an i5 and 1070
>>i5
Because its $180 dollars cheaper CDN and you can put that into a 1070 for more gaming performance per dollar
>why would you do that
>>

>>
>>382858767
the 6600k is a fine midrange processor, especially for videogames
>>
>>382858582
when you dont know what youre talking about and people who do give you advice you should probably listen.
>>
>>382858767
It's not bad by any mean but an R5 1600 would be a much better and cheaper choice when it comes to CPU intensives games.

>>382858836
You don't need to go i7 to get a better CPU, in fact you don't even need to pay more but rather less.
