For maximum relaxation I like to load up an audiobook or lecture or chill podcast, eat something unhealthy, sip an energy drink and play something I can zone out to like:

Leveling in an isolated area in WoW.

I get nostalgic just thinking about it.

I remember leveling a new seasonal alt in D3 last year while listening to Dune on audiobook all night long.

Another time I made a max size, heavily forested Civ 5 map with only 3 other civs, with me playing as the Iraqoi. I built a forest empire of 30 cities before meeting another civ, and the whole time I had a lecture on how the brain metabolizes sugar very similarly to alcohol playing in the background. Turns out overconsumption symptoms are identical for both, with the main difference being that sugar doesn't cross the blood-brain barrier like alcohol does.

I was watching a lot on the topic, though, like That Sugar Film and a few other anti-sugar documentaries and lectures. His stands out as the best, though. I tabbed over repeatedly to look at his charts on cellular metabolism.

Changed my life, desu. I went on a borderline keto diet after that, getting my carbs almost entirely from complex sources like beans and dropping all breads, fruits, liquid carbs, and anything with added sugar. As a result I lost about 10lbs per month still eating as much as I felt like, and ended up at a healthy weight. Now I eat whatever I want, even sugars, and if my weight starts creeping up I just go back on that diet until I lose those 10lbs or whatever and then go back to eating normally.

Basically 1 month out of the year I stop eating 90% of supermarket carbs and that keeps my BMI in the healthy range for the next 11 months, then I do it again. I never imagined it could be so easy to lose like 60lbs, because I never imagined sugar could be so catastrophic for us. Part of it is that after a low-sugar diet, you realize how gross added sugar food tastes, so you want less of it. So my non-diet eating habits are better as well.

I like turn based games when I'm high. So any 4x, HoMM game or XCOM and it's clones are perfect. You can roll and smoke without interrupting the gameplay or fucking up as you won't fumble the joint as you play.
