Most of the big name rift bosses have been used elsewhere, the only significant one left is Necrophobe. And the final area of the dungeon is already used for Shinryu.

The next tier COULD be Gilgamesh+Necrophobe, but it seems more likely it'll be from another game.

The fact that so many things about Automata went right, including the concerts and outsourcing the figure sculpt to Mitsumasa Yoshizawa, one of the best fuckers in the business, just is so fucking inconsistent to Square's history of godawful shit choices.

They could have made a dogshit Play Arts Kai version very easily and kept all the money for themselves. But they didn't for some fucking baffling reason.

I can't name another game that utterly avoided fucking up like Nier: Automata did and just did everything right. How many games out there are as chock full of good decisions as this one. It doesn't matter if you like the game or not, it's a goddamn miracle that someone put their balls on the line to actually make something for the fans and the fans actually bought it.

I am confident they will misread the signals from the sales of this game and something like it will never come about again.

Cutscenes haven't just taken a hit in animation but also in cinematography. There weren't many cutscenes in 1.0 that were up to that standard, granted, but even the regular ones were to a higher standard than the current game. Every cutscene had a small shake effect to simulate a handheld camera which went a ways to enliven the presentation. They are really only just now going back and taking blended animation from 1.0 like a character walking into the scene with a smooth stop or turn.

Also don't forget how much better the old movement animations were.
